Boy Scouts of America Bring Political Leaders to Ashland City

The Boy Scouts of America, Highland Rim District, will hold a patron event on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Riverview Restaurant at 6:00 p.m. The guest speakers for the event will include Deputy Governor Claude Ramsey, who is the former mayor of Hamilton County and a veteran to government affairs with over 40 years of experience. Ramsey will be joined by State Representative Dale Ford, a United States Army Veteran, former Major League Baseball Umpire, and current legislator with the Tennessee General Assembly.

“I am very excited about this most worthy event being held in Cheatham County for the first time,” says Dan Cook, Chairman of the Highland Rim District of the Middle Tennessee Council, Boy Scouts of America. “Cheatham County has 6 different Boy Scout Troops around the county and 5 Cub Scout Packs. The event will have a great impact on these scouts, in both Cheatham County and throughout the district. Please take time to assist our youth in becoming better citizens and great Americans. As Abraham Lincoln said, No man stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child.”

The event will raise money for the Highland Rim District ‘Friends of Scouting’ Campaign, which consists of Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers of Cheatham, Dickson, Hickman, and Humphreys Counties. All funds raised will go directly to local Scouting activities and programs.

The dinner is being sponsored by State Representative Phillip Johnson and Community Bank and Trust. If you would like to make a reservation or be involved as a table host, please contact Bradford Shoemaker, District Executive of Highland Rim, by calling 615-944-3886
