Kristi Dirks, the new youth coordinator at Pegram United Methodist Church, brings great energy and a wealth of mission and ministry experience to the position.
A graduate of Western Kentucky University with a major in religious studies, Kristi likes working with young people, and helping them grow in their faith.
Planning and coordinating “the fun stuff” is something Dirks enjoys. Mission work, Bible studies, campus ministries, and an internship at Living Hope in Bowling Green, all gave her hands on opportunities and led to numerous leadership roles.
Those experiences reinforced her love for youth ministry and confirmed her career path, Dirks said.
Anyone interested is welcome to come. Pegram UMC youth meet Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. prior to the main service at 10:30 a.m.
Sunday evenings the youth meet at the church fellowship hall 5:30-7 p.m. Those sessions, for people in grades 6-12, start with supper, and generally includes planned discussion, games, and activities. The group also plans safe, supervised special event participation, when there is interest and opportunities.
