Pegram Elementary School will be culminating this year’s Fabulous Fine Arts Frenzy with a Concert on the Lawn and exhibit featuring the student artwork created during our Wild and Woolly Fiber Arts Day. The concert will begin at 5:30 with a performance by local musicians from Fiddle and Pick with their proceeds going to a scholarship fund for up and coming musicians. Next in the lineup are the Pegram Elementary students with a concert centered on the idea of making a difference. Bring a blanket and have dinner while you listen. Food will be available for purchase, which benefits our Parent Teacher Organization. At 7 p.m. following the concert, the Spring Frolics will kick into gear with fun games and activities for the whole family. Student art will be on display in the school near the student’s classrooms. Additionally we are inviting members of the community to help us create a weaving which will be displayed in our building as a permanent art installation. We invite community members to bring a piece of fiber or a fabric strip that is meaningful to them, to weave into this hanging. The completed weaving will remain on display as a symbol of the many threads which tie our community together. Pegram Elementary School was able to continue this nine-year tradition thanks to an Art Builds Communities Grant from the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, and The Tennessee Arts Commission, as well as a supportive PTO and local community.
