The work load is enormous. Its difficult to get to the shelves because of all the boxes of books, but the carpet is down, and the terrible scars of the tornado that damaged the beautiful little South Cheatham log library are gone.
The opening date is firm: Monday, June 18th at 10:00a.m. Librarian Janet Walker wants to make sure her patrons are aware that there is no way things will be totally back to normal on that day. There’s a mountain of work that has to be done, even more to catch up on, and there are only so many hours in a day.
“We are busy putting shelves and furniture in right now – computers will hopefully be hooked up tomorrow”, Walker said, and the books, my goodness the books!
The WiFi is even in operation so if you wanted to sit in the parking lot with your laptop you can use it now. “Our opening date is June 18th with an Open House on Saturday, June 23rd. Walker knows how anxious everyone is to get back in the library. Almost as anxious as that little bear looks to get back up in his tree! She and her staff can’t wait to welcome everyone back too!
