Runaway Home: Local Band On the Rise

Join local favorite, Runaway Home, as they celebrate the release of their self-titled debut CD.  The band will be showcasing the new CD with a concert and a party on June 9th at World Music Nashville in Bellevue beginning at 7pm.

Runaway Home was formed by three Nashville industry veterans, Mark Elliott, Gary Culley and Lisa McCarter, otherwise known as the Troubadour, the Guitar Slinger and the Mountain Songbird.

Mark Elliott is the Troubadour of the group.  A protégé of the legendary Tom Paxton and a Kerrville New Folk Winner, Mark has logged countless miles and stages around the globe.   He also is an accomplished songwriter, with many publishing contracts and recorded songs to his credit.

Gary Culley is the Guitar Slinger of the group.  He is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music, a Kerrville New Folk Winner and a well-published songwriter.  As the nickname suggests, he’s been known to light up a fret board or two.

Lisa McCarter is the Mountain Songbird of the group.  This Smokey Mountain native was one third of the hit Warner Bros. group, The McCarter Sisters, with multiple top ten singles, appearances on the Grand Ol’ Opry and Hee-Haw— there’s no mistaking this sweet-voiced beauty.

The band was born in the Kingston Springs and West Nashville music scenes, championed early by hard core fans of the group’s powerful harmony singing and signature set of original songs.  The band has also been quick to give back to their community with consistent support of the Harpeth High School Band of Blue, West Nashville Flood Relief efforts, and most recently the Springaroo Festival to benefit local residents battling cancer.

Please show your support and celebrate this “local band done good!”
