News from City Hall, Kingston Springs

There is a burning ban throughout all of Cheatham County.  This includes all open flame burning for ANY reason.  Fireworks are not included in the ban.  Grills with a lid are not included.  Open top grills are banned.  To date, there have been no fires in Kingston Springs related to fireworks or burning.  There have already been several fires started from cigarettes thrown out of car windows as is common all summer long.  The past weekend, there were hardly any fireworks being set off in area neighborhoods and no fires set from burning, proving that most everyone is using their common sense during this dry situation.

For those who elect to shoot fireworks, you should be aware that you can be held liable for any damage you impose to other people’s property.  Plan your fireworks to stay on your own property.  Also, fireworks are not permitted on any park property at any time.

The second of three, Movies in the Park will occur on Saturday, July 21st at City Park in Kingston Springs.  The movie starts at dark.  There are inflatable playgrounds for the kids set up prior to the movie at 7.  Concessions are available.  There is no charge to attend.  Bring a blanket or a lawn chair, leave the pets at home.  This month’s movie will be the animated Disney movie, Cars 2.  Heritage Bank is this month’s movie sponsor.  The final Movie in the Park for the season will be on September 15th.
