Fire Destroys Home in Pegram

The Pegram Fire Department was paged around 8:20 am Sunday morning for a confirmed structure fire at 1016 Natier Dr., at a home owned by Thelma Osborne.

The above photograph was taken shortly after the first fire fighters arrived on the scene. Below, total loss.


First arriving units reported heavy fire and smoke showing from a single family residential dwelling, all occupants were out of the structure.

Pegram and Kingston Springs Fire Department’s were the 2 initial responding departments.  Two Rivers Fire Department was requested for mutual aid as soon as it was a confirmed as a working fire. Two Rivers Fire Department supplied a tanker for water shuttles and also extra manpower due to the already hot temperatures.  One Fire Fighter was transported to the hospital due to the heat but was released later in the day.  Cheatham County EMS was also on scene with 2 units keeping Fire Fighters hydrated and monitoring everyone due to the heat.  Fire Fighters were on the scene approximately 4 hours.

The house and contents were a total loss and according to the family, they didn’t have homeowner’s insurance.  The Red Cross was called in to assist the family.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
