West 70 Arts Cruise Helps Shopping Local

The first West 70 Arts Cruise took place on Saturday, July 21st at the Harpeth Art Center & Gallery, home of Mud Puddle Pottery Studio in Pegram. Artists set up craft booths in the parking lot for sales. The gallery was also open for shopping and cooling off.  Locally grown produce was offered, as everyone enjoyed the colorful array of fresh vegetables and melons. The Arts Cruise is a collaborative effort of a group of artists, trying to bring the community together and gain support for the arts and music in the area. Some of the future art cruises will include special events such as a Night Crawl, food vendors, arts demonstrations, entertainment, and music until dusk.   We encourage our local community to support the efforts to “buy local” and realize what is available in the community. Participants will offer handmade arts, homemade products, and homegrown produce.  Come shop for pottery, jewelry, paintings, produce, glass, photography, candles, lotions, soaps, food, and so much more.   The West 70 Arts Cruise will take place every third Saturday of the month, year round from 9 AM – 2 PM.  Plan to cruise down Hwy 70 and attend the next West 70 Arts Cruise on Saturday, August 18.  For more information, visit www.HarpethArtCenter.com.
