5th District County Commissioner Arrested for DUI













District Cheatham County Commissioner, David Davidson, has been once again arrested for DUI. David has served as 5th District (Pegram) County Commissioner for 10 years.

Thursday night August 2nd at approximately 7:15p.m., 54 year old Davidson was observed by Cheatham County Sherriff’s Officer Gary Ola as he pulled out from a convenience store on River Rd. “with vehicle tires riding the yellow line”. He followed Davidson onto Davidson Road where Ola stopped Davidson and observed “odor of alcoholic beverage”, in the car, and on Davidson’s breath as well. Ola said that Davidson had “glazed eyes” and was “kind of in a stare”. He added that Davidson “Rambled and repeated his answers”.

Davidson said that he had consumed 2 beers, “one after he left work and one as he was voting. He had bought a six pack which was in the car, and added that he had taken an over the counter medication for his acid reflux.

Davidson was jailed, and later bonded out. His court date has been set for 09/05/2012 at 10:00 a.m.

The report states that Davidson had a prior DUI conviction, local news stations reported that there are 3 prior DUI convictions. Davidson was given a mandatory blood test after failing 2 field sobriety tests. Results of that test were not yet available at press time.
