Mission statement: HHS provides a safe learning community which challenges its students academically, artistically, and athletically. We empower our students to become life-long learners who possess integrity and wisdom.
We would like to extend a big WELCOME BACK to all students and teachers to the new 2012-2013 school year at Harpeth High School! We hope this school year brings positive changes and challenges us to set higher goals to achieve.
Many staff changes will be seen this year. There are seven new teachers including our new principal, Mr. Mike Kinnard. We will be introducing each new staff member in this article over the coming weeks. New classes are being offered this year, too. They include Project Lead the Way, Criminal Justice, and Horticulture and Landscaping classes using our new greenhouse.
The first teacher we would like to introduce is Hong Wan. Mrs. Wan is teaching Chemistry I and II this year. Mrs. Wan states, “Chemistry reactions excite me. I love teaching students with the on-hands approach. I am very glad to be at Harpeth High School.” Welcome, Mrs. Han. We are glad to have you as well.
The Harpeth Band of Blue worked very hard last week in the heat at the annual band camp. The week ended with a preview of their show entitled “Frameworks.” All the dedication and strenuous schedule paid off in front of an impressive crowd last Friday night. We would like to thank Dr. McNally and his staff as well as the Band of Blue. Well done!
Remember Harpeth stands for Hospitality, Academics, Respect, Peace, Enthusiasm, Talent, and Hope.
Have a fantastic week!
