Meals On Wheels is in need of a volunteer

Meals On Wheels is in need of a volunteer to deliver meals to homebound seniors. The time requirement is small, but the reward is a great opportunity to serve in your community. Call Hewitt Rogers at 952-3825 for details. WE CAN DO IT, IF YOU WILL HELP.

HHS Jr League Sign-ups

HHS Jr League Sign-ups will begin this Saturday Oct 13 thru Nov. 3.

Cost is $70 per child. Sign –ups will be at the High School in back Lobby near gym.

Pegram to host “Market Day”

Saturday, October 27, from 10-3, Pegram will host “Market Day”. Booths will be marked on Friday. No need to make a reservation, just show up early and pick your spot! Non electrical booths will be free of charge. Booths with electricity will be only $15. Simply pay as you set up. Food, a chili cook-off, crafts, gifts, information, the sky’s the limit! (although, it must be legal- which inside the park means no weapons of any sort!) We will have an inflatable for the young or just young at heart. Pegram Special Events Committee will be selling refreshments, as well. Watch for more information next week!

The Third Annual Cheatham County Turkey Shoot

The Third Annual Cheatham County Turkey Shoot, sponsored by the County Democratic Party, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 13, at the shooting grounds off River Road (Rte. 249 between Kingston Springs and Ashland City) at Davidson Road. Prizes will be awarded for the best shooting, and free food will be available for all. Ammunition (all gauges) will be provided, but shooters should bring their own shotguns and a small contestant fee will be charged. Everyone is invited to come out and have a blast!

The Way Community Center and area churches are hosting a conference for women of all ages, Saturday November 10, 2012. Terra Tucker, author of “Daughter of the King”, will be speaking and there will be breakout sessions for all ages. The Conference will be held from 8:30-4:00 and the registration is $15. The GriefShare support group will begin meeting on Wednesday nights in October and November at the Pegram Church of Christ (5019 Walkup Rd.) at 6:30 p.m. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. GriefShare support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session. Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held each Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m., each Wednesday at 12:00 p.m., and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. at 335 Oak Street in Kingston Springs.
