If you live in the county outside of Kingston Springs, or if you are a Pegram resident, (city or rural), the property tax notices you received last week are likely incorrect.
The mistake is with the fire tax, which was added twice due to a computing error in the assessor’s office.
County Trustee Dot Jones said this week that the corrected bills will be sent out next week in the form of a post card.
She also stated that if your notice was incorrect and you have already paid your bill, your payment will be returned to you along with a revised bill.
