ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING – COOKIE CONTEST

Christmas Tree Lighting, and Cookie Contest at the South Cheatham Public Library – Thursday, November 29th @ 7:00 pm Everyone is welcome to come and join in the festivities, enjoy holiday treats, and listen to the music of the Season. Don’t forge- to enter the Cookie Contest, our two categories are – Best Cookie Baked by a Child (up to 12 years) and Best Cookie Baked by an Adult (ages 13+). There will be a prize for each category! Please bring your cookies (2-3 dozen) to the library by 3:00 for the judging.

AAU Youth Wrestling Team Meeting

There will be an AAU Youth Wrestling Team meeting and sign-up on Monday, November 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Harpeth Wrestling Building. All kids in grades K-5TH are encouraged to come out. For more information, please contact Coach Ricky Woods at ricky.woods@ccstn.org.

Annual Church Bazaar and Bake Sale

Annual Church Bazaar and Bake Sale – Save the Date Nov. 17th! Pegram United Methodist Church annual church bazaar will be Saturday, Nov. 17th from 8am till 2pm. PUMC is located across from Pegram Ball Park. Shop the Bazaar to support the great missions and ministries of Pegram United Methodist. You’ll find homemade pies, cakes, cookies, breads etc…calendars, crafts, and assorted gifts for the holiday. Early bird breakfast of cinnamon rolls w/ coffee or juice from 8am till. Come enjoy the traditional Southern style lunch of ham, turnip greens, white beans, hot water cornbread, with drink and dessert, from 11am-1 pm, adult $7 and children $5. Hot dogs and chili will be offered as well for $5. Take out orders are welcomed. Order 15-20 pound smoked turkeys for Thanksgiving for $35.

PARENT’S NIGHT OUT!!!

November 2 from 6:30-9:00 bring your kids over to the Way for a free night out. King’s Kids host a night dedicated to kids ages 4-6th grade that allows parents to go out on the town and enjoy each others company, or just sit around the house and enjoy the quiet. It is lots of fun, with music, crafts, story time, and snacks!!

South Cheatham Angel Tree Sign-Ups Underway

If your child(ren) are in need of assistance at Christmas the South Cheatham Angel Tree Program applications have been mailed out through Pegram Elementary, Kingston Springs Elementary, Harpeth Middle School and Harpeth High School. Please contact your respective school for sign up information if you do not receive an application in the mail. If you have a non-school aged child that does not have a sibling at any of these schools and has not signed up with any other Christmas assistance program you may sign up at The Ark Community Resource Center located at 710 HWY 70 Pegram, TN 37143. You may sign up by appointment by calling 457-1931 or on Tuesday evenings from 5:00pm-6:30pm. The deadline for returned applications is November 1, 2010.

Nashville African Violet Club

Tennessee Gesneriad Society

Thanksgiving Basket Give-away at The Ark

The Girls Scouts are once again assembling baskets of food to feed an average family of 4 for Thanksgiving. Tuesday night, November 13, 5pm-6pm those in need that reside in Kingston Springs and Pegram (and are currently registered with The Ark) may come to The Ark to receive a box and a $10 voucher towards the purchase of a turkey at Lawrence Foods. Limited boxes will be available, therefore, RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Call 457-1931 to reserve a box. Limit 1 box per address. *The Food Pantry will be closed the following Tuesday, November 20th.

HOPE FOR RESTORATION: WOMEN’S CONFERENCE.

The Way Community Center and area churches are hosting a conference for women of all ages, Saturday November 10, 2012. Terra Tucker, author of “Daughter of the King”, will be speaking and there will be breakout sessions for all ages. The Conference will be held from 8:30-4:00 and the registration is $15. GRIEFSHARE SUPPORT GROUP IN NOVEMBER AT PEGRAM CHURCH OF CHRIST!

The GriefShare support group will begin meeting on Wednesday nights in November at the Pegram Church of Christ (5019 Walkup Rd.) at 6:30 p.m. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. GriefShare support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session. Each is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin. For more information, please contact the church office at 615-646-6808.

Cheatham County Home for the Holidays Craft Show

December 1 & 2, 2012, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Cheatham County Fair Grounds, 870 Fair Grounds Rd, Ashland City, TN 37015. Admission Free & Free Parking. AlAnon

Alanon is a support group for friends and family who are suffering from the effects of alcoholism and addiction. Alanon meetings are changing from Monday nights to Thursday’s starting November 1, 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Studio Mills, 406 N. Main Street. For more info call Linda M. 615-952-4864.

AA Meetings

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held each Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m., each Wednesday at 12:00 p.m., and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. at 335 Oak Street in Kingston Springs. Also, “The Payday Group” meets at Pegram Church of Christ on Fridays at 7 p.m. For emergencies call the Nashville AA Hotline at 831-1050.
