COMMODITIES / FOOD GIVE AWAY

Commodity distribution in Cheatham County will be December 12 & 13, 2012 from 9:00 am to 3:00pm, at the Cheatham County MCCAA office located at 296 Frey Street, Unit 10, Ashland City. MCCAA is a non-profit organization serving low income families in Cheatham County. Please call 615-792-3632 for questions. Cheatham County Animal Control Rabies Clinic

Cheatham County Animal Control will be hosting their last $10.00 Rabies clinic for 2012 on December 8th from 9 am to 12 pm. Please call 792-3647 and register your pets to make sure that we have enough supplies for everyone. Please make sure your pets start the new year off healthy and happy. Tennessee Law requires all cats and dogs over the age of 6 months of age to have a current rabies vaccination (TCA 68-8-103).

A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS in PEGRAM!

Join us Saturday, December 8, from 5-8 for a Holly Jolly Christmas! We will be serving chili, hot chocolate and many other goodies! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there for pictures! Watch next week for entertainment to be named!

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO THE SOUTH CHEATHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY ON DECEMBER 1ST @ 10:00!! Santa will meet and greet children around the fireplace, giving out candy canes and lots of good cheer.

Harpeth Middle School Fundraiser

Harpeth Middle School will be collecting used books, used CDs, and used movies during the month of November. These will be taken to McKays bookstore and exchanged for cash for the school and for store credit that teachers may use. The drop off is in the commons area in the school.

ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING – COOKIE CONTEST

Christmas Tree Lighting, and Cookie Contest at the South Cheatham Public Library – Thursday, November 29th @ 7:00 pm Everyone is welcome to come and join in the festivities, enjoy holiday treats, and listen to the music of the Season. Don’t forge- to enter the Cookie Contest, our two categories are – Best Cookie Baked by a Child (up to 12 years) and Best Cookie Baked by an Adult (ages 13+). There will be a prize for each category! Please bring your cookies (2-3 dozen) to the library by 3:00 for the judging.

GRIEFSHARE SUPPORT GROUP IN NOVEMBER AT PEGRAM CHURCH OF CHRIST!

The GriefShare support group will begin meeting on Wednesday nights in November at the Pegram Church of Christ (5019 Walkup Rd.) at 6:30 p.m. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. GriefShare support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session. Each is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin. For more information, please contact the church office at 615-646-6808.

Cheatham County Home for the Holidays Craft Show

December 1 & 2, 2012, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Cheatham County Fair Grounds, 870 Fair Grounds Rd, Ashland City, TN 37015. Admission Free & Free Parking. AlAnon

Alanon is a support group for friends and family who are suffering from the effects of alcoholism and addiction. Alanon meetings are held on Thursday night’s, 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Studio Mills, 406 N. Main Street. For more info call Linda M. 615-952-4864.

AA Meetings

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held each Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m., each Wednesday at 12:00 p.m., and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. at 335 Oak Street in Kingston Springs. Also, “The Payday Group” meets at Pegram Church of Christ on Fridays at 7 p.m. For emergencies call the Nashville AA Hotline at 831-1050.
