Brandon Collins and Chris Dillon

At HMS we are so proud of our students and all that they achieve. Recently, one of our eighth graders, Brandon Collins, organized a fundraiser for his cousin’s friend who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. Chris Dillon, from Foley, AL, is sixteen years old fighting this horrible disease. Brandon asked several of his friends to help make signs and get the word out to all our students about this great fundraiser. The students worked hard and pulled together raising over $600.00 to help Chris’s family with medical costs. Brandon we are so proud of you and your willingness to help others.

We are so proud of the students at HMS for collecting over 600 boxes of Mac N Cheese for the ARK of South Cheatham. The students participated in a weeklong contest to see which homeroom could bring in the most boxes of Mac N Cheese. Mrs. Davis’s 7th grade class brought in 125 boxes. Ms. Johnson’s 5th grade class came in second with 89 boxes and Mrs. Bobo’s class came very close bringing in 84 boxes. Great job Indians!!!!

HMS PTO was thrilled to give Mr. Parks and his technology students an early Christmas present: 2 Lego Mindstorms robot kits! Mr. Parks presented his request for a kit at a PTO meeting a few months ago. We loved the idea so much we purchased two with the view of reaching more students with this educational opportunity. Happy building!

Congratulations to the 2012-2013 Graphics Team. The following students were chosen to participate on this team: Brandon Collins, Kayla Eatherly, Perry Hillm, John Janotha, Jessica Massey, Jesse McCain, Rachel Roberts, and Jenna Williams. Great job Graphics Team members! We look forward to see your artwork displayed in our building.
