Join us for a very informative and important meeting!

We are excited at HMS to see what 2013 holds for our school. We have already started the year with a very exciting event! On Monday evening we had our first ever Cominghome! Last week we had a brief Spirit Week as our students wore their Pajamas on Thursday and as their favorite teacher on Friday. On Monday we had Spirit Day and our Cominghome that evening during the last home basketball game of the season. The following young men were chosen by their grade level to be escorts for our Cominghome: 5th grade- Luke Gossett escorted by Ashley Russell, Ty Holland escorted by Sydney Allison, Maverick Rodriguez escorted by Savannah Page; 6th grade- Dylan Capps escorted by Rachel Adams, Houston Crouch escorted by Mason Gibbs, Luke Liles escorted by Aaliah Newcomb; 7th grade- CJ Holland escorted by Bailey Williams, Landon Fowler escorted by Madison Tolle, Henry Oakley escorted by Gracie Rawlins; and 8th grade – Will Gossett escorted by Leanne Jenkins, Tyler Groves escorted by Olivia Barnett, Will Miniat escorted by Hanna Costi, and Walker Weatherly escorted by Jordan Baldwin. The 8th graders selected Will Miniat as King of the Cominghome court. It was also a very special night because it was 8th grade night for our girls and boys basketball players and cheerleaders. Thank you to all our eighth graders and representing our school at home and away games with good sportsmanship and HMS pride.

Parents please make plans to attend the PTO meeting this coming Tuesday, January 15 at the HMS library. Chief Academic Officer Sharon Kinnard will be answering questions concerning Common Core and other important issues. You will not want to miss this informative meeting.

At our final home game we announced the final total to Linda’s Hope. Linda’s Hope is a non-profit organization that raises awareness and funding for research of Pancreatic Cancer. We are proud to announce that HMS raised $3,004.00!!!!! We are so proud of our students and the great giving spirit that they exhibit. Thank you to the Bledsoe family, Nathan Bledsoe, and Lindsey Conklin for the hard work in making this fundraiser such a huge success.
