The team members included Matt Watts, Jason Fennell, Brent Burger, Brandon Mackin, Ethan Nobes, Will Etheridge, Daniel Harrison, Jordan Hogan, as well as HMS teammates Devin Copeland and Landon Fowler. Way to go, players!! You represented HHS in fine style! Congratulations!!
In greenhouse news, Mr. Waynick’s agriculture classes have been busy tending to the greenhouse plants. They are growing several varieties of tomatoes and grasses as well as experimenting with a small algae farm. One of the grasses they are growing is hydroponic grass which is grown in water without soil. Included with this article is a beautiful picture of this type of grass. They have been feeding the hydroponic grass and other types of grass to cows, horses, and llamas to discover which type of grass these animals prefer. The jury is still out. Good luck to all students going to the 85th FFA State Convention in Gatlinburg this weekend. Our students will be focused on principles of horticulture and landscaping time management including job opportunities and examining components of creating a business in landscaping.
The ACT test was given on Tuesday, March 19, at Harpeth High School. If you were not able to attend that day, the makeup test date is April 4. Please check in with your counselor to reschedule your test.
We would like to extend a BIG pat on the back to the HHS boys soccer team. They defeated Cheatham County Central last Thursday with a score of 9-0. Two soccer players scored “hat tricks” in the game. They were Chandler Oakley and Jacob Leonard! Great hustle, guys! We look forward to cheering you on this season!
Reminder concerning policy #6.312: Harpeth High School will adhere to the Cheatham County Board of Education Policy pertaining to personal communication devices. Upon entering a school building or a school bus, the communication device must be deactivated and put away(out of sight) until the dismissal of school. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.

College/study tip: Join school clubs and activities to make new friends and create a sense of community. It’s good to get out of your comfort zone with new situations and surroundings.
Food for thought: Realize that homework is considered an important part of learning. Not doing your homework because you don’t believe in it is self-defeating behavior.
Quote of the week: “Dreams. Wings. Promise. Everything you need to soar is within you.” Tamara Bruner
Have a marvelous spring break!!
