A Salute to our Meals on Wheels Volunteers and Community

Pegram Church of Christ – Saturday, April 20, 2013 – 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Come and celebrate with the community as we recognize and honor the past and present Meals on Wheels Volunteers. It will be an afternoon of BBQ, Bluegrass & Blessings and a chance to meet the volunteers that keep the “wheels turning and the meals coming”.

Fiddle & Pick will bring some down home bluegrass music and area Caterers and Restaurants will collaborate together and show their love for this community through their delicious food.

Over the past 19 years the program has been in existence in South Cheatham. There have been over 135 volunteers serving 5 meals a week to over 110 recipients. These volunteers have provided our seniors a nutritious meal, a friendly knock on the door and if requested a sympathetic ear.

South Cheatham is one of the few communities which have been able to fund this program and get the meals to seniors without a waiting list. This has been done through the generosity of the community which has given to this program.

The cost for the evening is $20 per ticket with 100% of the money going to purchase the food for the Meals on Wheels program. Tickets can be purchased at Community Bank in Pegram or Kingston Springs, Heritage Bank in Kingston Springs and The Ark or Noah’s Closet. To coordinate the food we ask that you purchase your tickets in advance.

If you have any questions please call Sheila Harris at 519-1778 or The Ark at 457-1931.
