Cheatham County Community Theater to Hold Auditions for “Annie Get Your Gun” May


Cheatham County Community Theater is holding auditions for the musical “Annie Get Your Gun.” Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pegram Church of Christ, located at 5019 Walkup Rd., Pegram, Tenn. There are several roles available for adults, teens and children ages 8 and up. Please bring a headshot, if possible, and be prepared to sing a musical number and do some script reading. A list of characters is available on the CCCT website at Also needed are gymnasts, jugglers and acrobats. The play is coming to the stage in late July and will be directed by Nicole Arnold.

In this beloved classic, Annie Oakley – the best shot around – is persuaded to join the Wild West Show as the novel sharpshooter. She falls head over heels for the show’s headliner, the debonair shooting ace Frank Butler. Annie soon eclipses Butler as the main attraction, bruising his male ego and jeopardizing their romance. Ultimately he’s pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out. The show features toe-tappin’ ditties such as “There’s No Business Like Show Business” and “Anything You Can Do” that hearken a romanticized period in America’s history.

Cheatham County Community Theater was established in 2001 and has brought years of enjoyment and support of the arts to the community, as well as supporting charitable organizations with a portion of the proceeds. Cheatham County Community Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The play is being brought to the stage in part by South Cheatham Advocate and Harmony House Publications.
