The Cheatham County Board of Education met in regular session Monday night. All members were present.
The meeting began with announcements and congratulations for county wide contest winners:
5th grade: Caden Mitchell, CMS -1st place

The board approved a budget amendment for $1,512,147 for 5 air conditioning systems for 5 remaining school gymnasiums, including Harpeth High School.
Board policy 1.501 concerning Visitors to the School was approved on first reading. The change inserts the following language: Visitors are not allowed to photograph, video, or record any student, staff, or event on any electronic device that will interrupt the educational process during the school day.
Board policy 6.201 Compulsory Attendance Ages was also revised. To view the changes go to the Boards website at cheathamcountyschools.net and click on School Board Policy Online.
Upcoming retirements approved include: Mike Kendrick from the HHS faculty with 28 years of experience, and Norma Binkley from Pegram Elementary School faculty with 23 years of experience.
The Cheatham County Board of Education meets the first Monday of each month in the Board Annex building on Elizabeth Street at 7p.m.
