The Annual Memorial Day Picnic is Monday, May 27th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Plan to come to L.L. Burns Park for a day of water fun, bingo, corn hole, fishing, playgrounds, kite flying and more! You can pack up a picnic or purchase hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, ice cream products and more from the concession stand. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and just relax for the day.

The SplashPad Water Area will open for the season at 10:00 a.m. and will run ALL DAY until 7 p.m. This wet fun is for all ages.

BINGO will start at 10:00 a.m. No charge to play. This year we will move BINGO into the Activity Center air conditioning. Come win valuable prizes! (But no car or boat this year.) Lots of fun for all ages.

There will be Corn Hole games, Croquet and Badminton set up. You can bring a kite and take advantage of the treeless soccer field to fly it!

Lots of fishing opportunities too. Fish from the dock, a bench or the edge of the water at the pond. Be sure to have your license.

This year the Harpeth River Watershed Association is coming and bringing their

Wildlife Education program that will focus on fauna (that’s ANIMALS!). There will also be information about rain gardens and native plants. This program also features live samples of some of the different bugs living in the creeks. Kids and adults can learn how to ID them and how different species have different sensitivities to pollution. Getting to play with the bugs is a big hit. There might even be some fish there!

And don’t forget the Annual Duck Hunt that day. This is for kids ages 5 through 10. The Hunting Season begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. This year there will be 15 ducks hiding in the park. Prizes and cash go to those who find them. You MUST register at the porch of the Activity Center BEFORE you go duck hunting. Prizes will not be awarded to unregistered hunters. Limit of two duck prizes per child.

The only cost for all of this fun is for food at the concession stand. Everything else is free. And you will be saving a bundle on gas! Pack up the family, including Grandma and Grandpa and come out for a day of fun. Have a STAY-cation this year!
