The official ribbon cutting ceremony for our County Veterans Service Office will be Friday, August 2nd at 10:00AM. The new office is in the Tucker Empson Building, 264 South Main Street, Suite 106 (which was formerly the entrance to the County Clerk’s office).
Over the past six months the County has worked to secure a permanent location and now the hard work of so many people will bear fruit. For the past five months our County Service Officer, Mr. Robert E. (Bob) Counter has setup shop in the conference room in the Tucker Empson building Every Tuesday and Wednesday serving the need of our local Veterans. This setup was less than ideal for both the Veteran and the other occupants of the building. Now Mr. Counter will have a private office to provide services to Veterans and their families.
The office also offers a small reception and waiting area in addition to the main Veteran Service Office. Local County officials and representatives from the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs will be there to welcome all County Veterans. “We hope to have a large turnout of our Veterans, members of our County government, as well as County citizens to mark the Veteran Service Office grand opening”, remarked Mr. Counter.
