Kingston Springs Elementary School News & Supply List

KSESlogoWe hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!!! Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for Sunday, August 11th at 2:00 p.m.  Please plan to attend-this will answer all questions you may have about Kindergarten. The first day for 1st-4th grade is Tuesday, August 13th. This will be an early dismissal day.  Doors open at 7:15 -School begins at 7:45  and ends at 10:45.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone!


Kindergarten students will be phased in for testing.

All daycare Kindergarten students present will be tested on Tuesday, August 13th.

August 14th – 16th  will be testing dates for remaining students.  It will be determined by student’s last name.

A-G Wednesday, August 14th

H-O Thursday, August 15th

P-Z Friday, August 16th

There will be no school for kindergarten on Monday, August 19th.  This will be a data day for teachers.

Classroom Rosters will be posted on front doors on Monday afternoon the 19th.

The first full day for All Kindergarten students will be Tuesday, August 20th .

There will be a “Boo Hoo Breakfast” for all Kindergarten Parents at 7:45 on Tuesday in the Library.

Kingston Springs Elementary School Supply Lists: 2013-2014


-A back pack big enough for a change of clothes and a notebook—NO rolling backpacks please

-2 containers wipes (1 disinfecting. 1 baby wipes)

-2 boxes of tissues

-Re-sealable sandwich/quart bags-girls only

-Re-sealable gallon bags-all students

-re-sealable snack bags-boys only

-Headphones for computer lab (no ear buds please)

-1 re-closable 8 ½ x 5 ½ school box with hinged lid

-2 8 oz school glue (no glitter or glue sticks)

-1 package heavyweight construction paper

-4 pack expo markers

Optional –

Fold-able Kindergarten mat (Kindergarten will be napping every day until Christmas) The mat is an optional purchase for your child to have at nap time. If a mat is not provided, then your child can nap at his/her desk.

Cotton Balls, Hand Sanitizer, Brown and white lunch sacks, glitter, washable paint, wiggly eyes, pony beads, tri beads, pipe cleaners, paper towels and paper plates.

1st Grade:

-Two package of 24 count #2 pencils (sharpened)

-Two 24 pack crayons

– Ten glue sticks

-One spiral notebook for music class (wide rule-70 pages)

-One inexpensive set of headphones for the computer lab (in gallon Ziploc bag with name)

-Composition book/journal with sewn binding (no spiral)

-zipper pencil pouch-no boxes

-4 jumbo erasers

-4 pack expo markers

-old sock or washcloth for eraser

-1 pkg sticky notes 2X2

-1 box tissues

-Disinfectant wipes

-baby wipes

-resealable bags-boys gallon size girls-sandwich size

-paper towels

-1 large hand sanitizer


2nd Grade

-One package of 24 count #2 pencils (sharpened)

-One 24 pack crayons

-Student Scissors (blunt tip)

-Two glue sticks

-Two spiral notebooks (wide rule-70 pages) for music class and journal

-One inexpensive set of headphones for the computer lab

Optional-however greatly needed:

-Disinfectant wipes



3rd Grade

-one school box



-2 glue sticks

-One box of 24 count crayons

-One package of 24 #2 pencils (sharpened)

-One 1 inch 3 ring binder

-Five pocket folders with 3 holes to fit in the binder

-Wide-ruled, white notebook paper

-Two wide ruled single subject spiral notebooks

-One inexpensive set of portable headphones for the computer lab

-1 pack of dry erase markers (4 pack)

-Disinfectant wipes


4th Grade

-Backpack to fit in locker (no rolling backpacks please)

-One box 24 count crayons

-one pack colored pencils (12 or more)


-Three glue sticks

-12 inch ruler (centimeters as well as inches)

-One pack loose leaf wide ruled paper

-Two wide ruled spiral notebooks

-1 pkg 24 #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils)

-One plastic school box (8 ½ x 51/2) for supplies such as crayons

-One Trapper keeper or large 3 ring binder

-Six three hole punched folders to put in trapper or binder

-One inexpensive set of headphones for the computer lab

Optional-however greatly needed:

1-2 Containers of disinfectant wipes

1-2 boxes of tissues

Hand sanitizer

Ream of Copy paper
