The Cheatham County Board of Education met Monday night. All members were present.
The Board approved the purchase of 7 new buses, including: two (2) twelve passenger two (2) wheel-chair with track seating Special Education buses at a cost of $138,525.00; four (4) eighty four (84) passenger front engine buses at a cost of $414,200.00; one (1) eighty four (84) Passenger rear engine bus at a cost of $112,050.00. Extended warranties are included in the costs. Total cost of buses is $664,775.00 less insurance recovery money of $64,414.25. Total money requested for the buses from education debt services is $600,360.75.
In Old Business, the board made final approval of several policy changes:
6.204 concerning attendance of Non-Resident Students, (children of BoE employees)
5.109 Evaluations of classified administrative/support personnel.
5.110 concerning compensation guides and contracts
5.112 Extended contracts
5.113 concerning In service and professional learning opportunities
5.114 Personnel records

HMS Principal Winstead received permission for 47 students and 6 adult chaperones to travel to Washington DC (pending funds in account at time of trip). They will depart Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 7:00 a.m. and return Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 9:00 p.m.
