Indians Take the Show on the Road

Last Friday night the Indians traveled to East Hickman High School to take on the Eagles in a full pads scrimmage.  The Eagles were a state Playoff Team last year which made it to the 2nd round.  Harpeth started the scoring with a 50 yard catch and run by WR John Hunt.

The next couple of drives from East Hickman were stymied by the Indian defense  putting pressure on the Eagles senior quarterback. They also had an interception by a very productive Indian defensive backfield.

The Eagles had a hard time stopping the Indian run game and its twin running and full back combo.

On the next Harpeth drive the Indians scored on another Jett Brinkley TD pass.  Harpeth was driving for another possible TD when a halfback pass was picked off  by the Eagle D at the goal line, returning it 60 yards to the Harpeth 40. They were able to put a score up on the Harpeth JV defense.  When they went to live scrimmage both teams scored: Harpeth on a one yard run by Daulton Rose.

The scrimmage ended with a  Harpeth interception of the East Hickman Senior QB.

Harpeth will scrimmage at home in Kingston Springs Friday night August 9th against Creekwood at 6:00. Come out and see your Indians.

The Indians will be in a new district this season so the Creekwood and Waverly scrimmages will be the only time this season Harpeth will see their former district foes.  The Indians  will play Montgomery Central during the regular season.
