Scott Atchley is the new director of bands at Harpeth High School. A graduate of White House High School in Sumner County, Scott holds both a Bachelor of Science in music and a Master of the Arts in teaching from Austin Peay State University. Since 1992, he has actively performed as a trumpet soloist and chamber musician throughout Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Florida and Texas. As a clinician, he has worked with more than 30 area high schools and middle schools. He is a founding member of both the Apogean Brass Quintet and the Tristar Brass Quintet and has performed with the Nashville Wind Ensemble since 2005. Scott has also maintained a large private lesson studio since 1995.
Scott’s trumpet teachers include Richard Steffen of Austin Peay State University and Patrick Kunkee of the Nashville Symphony.
Scott lives in Pleasant View with his beautiful wife Tanna, who also teaches in Cheatham County. They share their home with their beloved Dachshund Baylee and their “tuxedo cat” Thomas.
