South Cheatham’s Boy Scout Troop 594 recently took a summer trip. They journeyed to Florida and Georgia, taking in an amazing amount of activities. They started their adventure at an Atlanta Braves game before moving on to snorkel in Rainbow River. The boys snorkeled with the manatee in Crystal River, went deep sea fishing and feasted from the ocean catch. Troop 594 also completed a community service project with a Florida VFW post and held a Flag retirement ceremony. The young men continued their adventure when they stayed at a Kings Bay Naval Station where they stayed on a base to be treated to numerous Naval demonstrations and a tour of the U. S. S. Alaska submarine. This was an amazing opportunity as the general public does not get to tour active nuclear submarines. They toured a submarine museum, the Atlanta aquarium, and played lots of dodgeball. This incredible trip carried 15 scouts and 17 adults who experienced major F. U. N. The 7 day trip brought home once in a lifetime experiences for many scouts. Troop 594 meets on Monday nights in Pegram Church of Christ to experience F. U. N. Boys 6th – 12th grades can visit and join any time.
