In celebration of their 70th anniversary, the historic Christ Fellowship Church of the Nazarene (The Little White Church On The Hill) has created a concert series to benefit another Cheatham county institution, The Ark which feeds, clothes, and answers the crises of our community. The flagship launch of The Opry At The Little White Church will feature both Kingston Springs up and comers flanked by star studded veterans in a night of music for the whole family.
Kim McLean, a Dove-award winning/Grammy nominated songwriter artist (No Stone To Throw, Count Your Blessing) who is also minister of music at The Little White Church will serve as musical host of the night welcoming Doc Holladay, a successful optometrist at the Charlotte Rd. Costco yet voted one of Nashville’s Top 3 songwriters by The Nashville Scene for his inspiring songs of recovery. Brandon Sandefur, Kingston Springs resident and Texas music star lauded in Country Weekly will bring the cowboy element while Emmy Russell and her father, Grammy nominated songwriter Philip Russell will add daughter/daddy charm as will Summer and Jack Kapanka. Kent Gordon, staples at The Fillin Station will perform along with folk artist Robert DeGraw, The McKee Twins, and more. Mix929 host Devon O’Day will serve as emcee. The fun will carry over to Sunday morning where the public is also welcomed to enjoy gospel opry Sunday featuring old time favorites for a perfect singalong beginning at 10:15a.
The admission is free, but a love offering will be taken with ten percent going to the preservation of The Little White Church, the rest going to The Ark. Sponsorships are available for local businesses who would like to have their ‘commercial’ read during the program by bringing their “ad” and a check for $25 or more made out to The Ark. Doors open at 6:30p and the show starts at 7p.
This concert series will continue throughout the year benefiting the community with the mission statement “Connecting Through Music – Community Through Christ” spotlighting the wealth of talent in our area. The Christ Fellowship Church of the Nazarene is located on Kingston Springs Road on the bluffs of The Harpeth between Merry Log and Main Street.
