football   Both the 7-8 year old and 9-10 year old SC Indians advanced into the 2nd round of the playoffs on Saturday!   The 7-8’s got their Week 1 revenge on East Robertson beating them handedly in the 1st round of the playoffs by playing a complete game improving their record to 6-3 on the year.   They won 54-21 with a 9 TD offensive explosion while holding the high-powered East Robertson offense to only 3 TDs.  Their special teams were awesome recovering 3 onside kicks that allowed the offense to keep putting the ball in the end zone.  Their 2nd round game is against Greenbrier, which is a Week 3 rematch that had Greenbrier getting the best of the Indians.  The 7-8 Indians are presently riding a 6 game winning streak and are 1 game away from playing in the Super Bowl for the 3rd consecutive year!
The 9-10 Indians played East Robertson as well beating them for the 2nd time in as many attempts posting a 35-0 shutout (2nd consecutive shutout) improving their mark to 8-1 on the year.   The Indians defense controlled the game from the beginning, only allowing for a total of 3 East Robertson 1st downs on the day.    The Indians offense continued their consistent play putting up 5 TDs with a combination of runs and passes and a good, all around effort in all 3 phases of the game.   The 9-10s now face their Eastern Division nemesis in Station Camp who is also 8-1 on the year and the team that put them out of the playoffs in 2012.
All Indians teams would like to thank you for your support last week and ask that you get behind them again this week.   The teams will be holding a tailgate party from 8:30 – 9:15 before heading to Pleasant View (Sycamore High School).   The 7-8s play Greenbrier at 11am and the 9-10s play Station Camp at 12:30pm.   Please come dressed in your red and blue, ready to be loud and carry both of these teams to the Middle TN Jr Pro Football League Super Bowl!
