It was a rainy, cold, yucky night last Thursday, but that didn’t keep lots of Kingston Springs residents from filling the little log library in downtown Kingston Springs for cookies, hot chocolate, music and singing. They huddled together inside the cozy building until tree lighting time, then everyone dashed outside to see the colored lights come to life on the tree. Then back inside for some of the county’s best cookies and treats!

Librarian Janet Walker announced the winner of the Adult Cookie Contest, which was Selena Fritz with her Christmas Moon Pies. In the Child category the winner was Will Collier with his Orange & Coconut Vol Balls.

There was great holiday music provided by the Spontaneous Mountain Boys and Friends – E.G. Smith, Alan O’Bryant, Casey Campbell, Gene Bush, Ian O’Bryant, Tate Welch, and Gretchen Priest-May.

The Daisy/Brownie Troop led by Becky Sessions sang Christmas Carols and the KSES 4th Grade Chorus led by Mary Combs entertained us with Songs of the Season.
