Dear people of Pegram,
Have you ever had someone tell you, “if you need any help, just call me and I will come help you.”? I know many who have said it but, when you needed them, where were they? Recently my husband had surgery. He can move about and do things but, because of his incision, the doctor has advised him not to lift anything over 5-6 pounds. Anyone who knows me knows that when I decorate for Christmas, it’s inside and awesome if I do say so myself. I love Christmas and celebrating Christ’s birthday with friends and family. The South Cheatham Advocate even visited on our 25th wedding anniversary 5 years ago. Well it has now come time to take it down. Taking it down isn’t the problem, it’s getting it back up in the attic. The outside lights are minimal and I could almost handle them myself. However, I just wanted everyone to know there is a man of his word. That man is Larry Martin of Pegram. Larry has been a friend of ours for many years. He NEVER hesitates to help us when we are in need. He even called and asked if we needed help. He was right there. I needed someone to come and cut a huge tree limb that fell on our fence and destroyed 3-4 sections of it. He was there. Larry is a treasure though he doesn’t act like a hero he is. I know he has been the backbone of many celebratory events in our little town of Pegram through rain, sleet and snow. He has renewed my faith In the meaning of, “just call me. I’ll be there.” Thank you Larry and Sherri Martin. You just don’t know how much you are appreciated. I don’t care what anyone says. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It will come back to you many fold in Heaven!
