March 1, 2014 the Harpeth High School Band of Blue Boosters will be hosting the 11th Annual Cabin Fever at Harpeth High School, 170 East Kingston Springs Road Kingston Springs, Tennessee. Doors will open at 5:00 PM that Saturday evening and includes a pork supper with coleslaw, potato salad and baked beans. Dinner entertainment will be performed by our own talented Harpeth High students. Ticket price for adults is $25, children under five free with adult, and students pay half price. Tickets go on sale this week and can be purchased from any Band of Blue Student or the local banks in Kingston Springs.
A Silent Auction will take place during the supper and intermission. Martina McBride has donated an autographed guitar, Cajun Lake Lodge located in Burns, Tennessee has donated a two night stay in their cabin overlooking the lake. This is a $400 value and will be sold in the silent auction to the highest bidder on the day of the event. Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari has donated two tickets for the 2014 season. Many more fantastic items are being added every day.
Following the dinner live music will be performed in the Jean Downey Theatre by our featured artist, John Stone. Here is a list of a few past Performances. It is no wonder John rocks;
Kid Rock’s Chillin the Most Cruise yearly from 2010 to 2013 and booked for 2014. Ryman Auditorium, Mother Church of Country Music four times, Ray Price’s 80th birthday, Marty Stuart’s “Marty Party” (the Wednesday night before the CMA Fest), the IFCO Party, Tootsie’s 50th birthday party and the Indianapolis 500.
John had played for former President George W. Bush six times and former First Lady Laura Bush twice. He has played at the Republican headquarters on election night in Washington, DC, Private “leaving office party” at the Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC, The White House Christmas Party and the Inaugural Ball.
John performed at the Tamworth Music Festival 3 times, featured on CMA Fest’s river front stage 3 times. He played the Gympie Muster main stage twice, Crow Bar and Muster Club. He has appeared in Montgomery Gentry’s “Hell Yeah” video, Colt Ford’s “No Trash in my Trailer” video and Monday Night Football commercial with Tim McGraw and featured on the American TV show “Two Men and a Chick Flick”. A very talented duo will open at Cabin Fever. Former backup singers for Kelly Clarkson who have recently struck out on their own, this fantastic twosome has made a name for themselves playing in various establishments across the country and even reaching number 39 on itunes pop chart. This is a fundraiser for the band’s general account for much needed equipment and new uniforms. The Harpeth High School Band of Blue music program is an award winning program made up of the finest and most talented young men and women in South Cheatham County. The band program is not limited to the award winning marching band and drum line; this public school program provides music education to over one hundred students annually in the forms of, indoor percussion, concert band, honor band, pep band, as well as our up and coming musicians from the Band of Blue program at Harpeth Middle School. Students are consistently successful in solo and ensemble, mid-state, and all-state performances bringing home excellent and superior ratings.
