Soon it will be time again for the Annual City-Wide Yard Sale in Kingston Springs! The date has traditionally been the first Saturday in May. However, over the past three years, there has consistently been rain on that day. This year the sale will move to the third Saturday in May, which is May 17th.
Anyone in the 37082 zip code can participate as a seller and there is no charge for that participation.
The city pays for the advertising and creates a shopper-friendly map that is distributed for free. All you have to do to register is call Kingston Springs City Hall at 952-2110, ext. 10 and give your name, address and phone number. Registrations will be accepted beginning on April 15th. Registration will continue until Friday, May 9th at NOON. Absolutely no registrations can be taken after that time as the map has to be sent to the printer.
This is the best time to have a yard or garage sale as it always attracts hundreds of shoppers from miles and miles away. The streets are full of shoppers all day! This is a Rain or Shine event. There is no rain date. This is the main reason to change the date to try and dodge the rain.
Every year there are 80 to 100 sales in the area. Anyone that registers their sale will have their address listed on the back of the map. The free maps will be available in Kingston Springs businesses on Friday, May 16th and Saturday, May 17th for shoppers to pick up.
The sales begin at 8:00 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. After the sales are over, sellers may take their “leftover”, unsold items to the GOODWILL truck that will be set up at the Middle School Parking lot on East Kingston Springs Road from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. This makes cleanup easy and quick while benefiting a worthy cause.
This event started in 2000, so this will be the 15th year! Along with selling off your treasures, you will get to visit with many of your neighbors. Also remember that through this yard sale, you are RECYCLING!
