The Pegram Community Club’s annual, all you can eat Fish Fry was a huge success on Saturday March 29 at the Community Club in Pegram. The crowd was lined up outside by 10:15 and from then on it was food, fun and friendly faces! The Fish Fry is one of the Club’s main fund raising events of the year. All proceeds from the Community Club’s fund raisers are used to maintain, and renovate the building.
For instance, in 2013 the major project was the floors. After 50 plus years the auditorium floors have been refinished. This included repairs and replacement of wood where needed, sanding and removing old finish, and applying several coats of polyurethane to obtain that perfect look. What a difference this has made to the look when entering the building.
The Club has now set its sights on replacing the bathrooms, hall, and kitchen floors. This is will be an expensive project and will take some time to raise the money. In the interim, they plan on painting and “freshening up” the inside of the building as they can.
Without your help and the support of the community and other interested parties, they cannot move forward with the restoration projects. The Pegram Community Club is a 501 (C) 3 tax exempt organization and any donations may be eligible for tax deductions. If you want to join the Club or just want to come and see what the Club is working on, we would love to have you.!!
