SUCCESS and THANK YOU From The Pegram Community Club

The Pegram Community Club Fish Fry was a huge success thanks to you! The numbers are in and the profit is the second highest over a period of the last six years.

With this being an election year we knew and prepared for a larger crowd then normal, but a large crowd is an understatement. With the outside temperatures hovering in the 40’s, gusty winds, and the prediction of rain all day, we just didn’t know how that would affect the turnout of Pegram residents and surrounding areas. At 10:45 those fears begin to fade as we had customers lined out the door and standing on the porch. That line of customers never let up and we sold out of everything by 2:15. Selling out, that early was a record for the Club and if you missed out on having a delicious catfish meal we do apologize.

The Club has two fundraisers each year with the Fish Fry being the first and of course the 4th of July BBQ. I guess you could say, the Fish Fry is “Pegram’s Rite to Spring”.

We have many special “thank yous” to express so here goes; to all of you wonderful cooks in Pegram who brought deserts, Elfrieda Patrick for providing the lovely floral center pieces for the tables, local artist Sue Nichols for donating a portion of the sales from the coffee mugs which she painted, Jimmy Noe, for ensuring that we have public service workers to work during the Fish Fry, Gary Petty, owner of South Side Disposal who always provides trash pick-up, Dale Graham, Editor of the South Cheatham Advocate for always making sure that the Community Club’s news is published in a timely manner.

Thank you to Dolores Harris Moulton, Cheatham County Register of Deeds, for supplying GooGoo candies’ and Moon Pies which are always a hit for young and old, and Cheatham County Mayor, David McCullough for the containers of Bubble Gum that the kids enjoyed “by the hands full”.

To all the Club members who set-up on Friday night, those who fought the wind and rain while cooking, the members working the serving line, and those members that cleaned up after the event, thank you for your hard work too.

Lastly, thanks to all of YOU who braved the weather and came for a delicious meal and to support The Pegram Community Club.
