Extension Thankful for Local Newspapers

Ronnie Baron stopped by The South Cheatham Advocate office last week to present Editor Dale Graham with her “Friends of Extension” plaque. This year the UT Extension and TN State University Cooperative Extension chose to honor the county’s 3 newspapers and editors as their “Friends of Extension”: Tim Adkins with the Ashland City Times, Zach McCarver with the 1-24 Exchange and Graham with the S. C. Advocate. “Our local news media has ben a strong supporter of Extension education programs for many years”, Baron explained. “We appreciate the close working relationship we have with each of them and highly regard them as collaborators and friends.”

UT Extension serves the citizens of Cheatham County with educational programs in the areas of Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences, Community Resource Development, and 4-H Youth Development. They are an outreach branch of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, providing research-based solutions and information to the citizens of Tennessee. Offices are located at 162 County Services Drive, Suite 110 in Ashland City. Contact them at 615-792-4420, or
