McCullough graduated from TNU with his B.S and M.A. degrees. David is an IFR and commercial pilot, and is a certified ground and flight instructor.
David has been the County Mayor since 2010, and has been involved in ministry since 1985. He is experienced in leadership, administration, and business principles. His goal in government has always been to be a person of integrity who listens and learns from others in order to lead with vision.
From 2002-2010, David worked diligently as County Commissioner to represent all of Cheatham County. McCullough was actively involved in the following committees: County Nursing Home, Education, Calendar and Rules, Beer Board, Rail Authority, Emergency Services, County Budget, and Road and Bridge. In 2006-2010, David was elected by his peers to serve as the Chairman of the Commission.
Mayor McCullough is currently Chairman of the following committees/organizations: Budget, Joint Economic Community Development Executive Board, Cheatham County Rail Authority, and the Tri Star Ashland City Hospital. He is a member of the following Executive Boards: Mayors Caucus, Rural Planning Organization, Regional Transportation Association, Greater Nashville Regional Council, Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency, Habitat for Humanity, and Workforce Essentials. He is a graduate of the UT Local Government Leadership Program, and the Transit Citizen Leadership Academy. David is also a CTAS certified Public Administrator.
Mayor McCullough will continue to serve with fairness and respect, help the County live within its means while providing quality services, openly communicate with constituents, develop relationships with other elected officials in Middle Tennessee to advocate regionalism, work with the Commission and School Board to improve our county, and work with community businesses to better Cheatham County.
