Dolores Harris Moulton announces her candidacy for re-election as Register of Deeds for Cheatham County.
I am a life-long resident of Cheatham County from the Petway community. I am the daughter of Lloyd and Jennie Harris. I have one son, Jamie and one daughter, D’andrea. Jamie is married to Dana Bell and D’andrea is married to Cory Felts. I am blessed with five grandchildren: Cayla, Addison, Blake, Seth, and Richmond. We all live in Cheatham County.
Prior to being elected register of deeds, I worked alongside my father during his terms as Circuit Court Clerk and was myself elected to the position of Circuit Court Clerk where I served two terms. I have received certification as a “Certified Public Administrator” from the University of Tennessee. I volunteer and serve my community as an active member of many civic organizations. I am a member of the Petway Church of Christ.
During my terms as Register, I have recognized the importance of innovation and remaining current with the technology of our day. I have initiated the procedures to eliminate paper waste through modern accounting procedures and document preservation. These innovations have saved our county’s financial resources by in house back- scanning and indexing of records. Not only has back-scanning saved money, but this office has preserved important legal documents from damage, and has made all scanned documents available on-line.
The office of Register of Deeds requires dedication, experience, and integrity and I have had exemplary audit reports throughout my terms in office.
As a Cheatham County taxpayer, I am keenly aware of our economy and if re-elected will continue to use my administrative experience and knowledge to maintain an efficient, financially sound, and responsible office. My goal is to provide a well-run and accessible office in a polite, courteous and professional manner that brings pride to our county.
I would like to ask you for your vote and support in the upcoming election.
