My name is Shanon Pickard and I am running for 6th District Commissioner.
I am a lifelong resident of Cheatham County. I attended Pegram Elementary, Harpeth Middle and Harpeth High School. I have been married to Sondra Kaye Biggs-Pickard of Ashland City for 22 years. We have 3 sons, one of whom just graduated from Harpeth and will be attending TTU in the fall. My wife and I are actively involved in the band boosters for the Harpeth High School Band of Blue. We are all members of Harpeth Baptist Church.
I began my work career at Cheatham County EMS as an EMT. I also worked at the Cheatham County Sheriff’s office; I was the first part-time dispatcher for Cheatham County 911 when it was created in 1988. I eventually moved on to the Tennessee Department of Safety where I worked in the communications section for almost 17 years. During that time I have worked in numerous part-time positions including Williamson County 911, Belle Meade Police Department, Vanderbilt LifeFlight, Cheatham County 911 Board, and as a Cheatham County substitute bus driver, which I continue to do.
In June of 2013 I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to return to Cheatham County 911 as the assistant director.
The platform I run on is integrity and motivation. I intend on having an open line of communication with all of my constituents. They are my driving force for running for office. With my background in government service and serving my community, I understand the needs of a growing county and its citizens.
If elected, not only do I intend to represent the families and individuals in the 6th District, but all citizens of Cheatham County.
Thank you for your continued support.
