Pegram Independence Day Celebration

fireworks2I hope you have been following the information on the upcoming Pegram Independence Day Celebration as it will be a fulfilled day for everyone!

We wanted to let everyone know that the day is full of lots of activities for all. Last year was the first year for the Jr Firefighter challenge, Corn hole tournament, Sr Bingo game and the hot dog eating contest and we are happy to a announce that we bringing these back again along with the regular fun we have each year.

The Pegram Volunteer Fire department devote their time in showing the kids what challenges (under less circumstances) they go through to protect the citizens. It’s a fun challenge that the girls and boys love to be a part of just as much as seeing the fire engines and hearing their sirens during the parade. Make a point to thank a firefighter for all they do to keep us safe and educated.

Speaking of challenges, bring all your friends to back up their bragging and see just how many hot dogs they can eat. Unfortunately I don’t have the name of last year’s winner was but you know who you are and have a reputation to uphold!

If you are 55 yrs or older, we invite you to play in the Sr Bingo games. It will be in the Parks and Rec building located in the park. There will be refreshments and amazing gifts for the winners! You will not want to miss this. Get there on time, 1:00pm start, and try your luck as hosts WJ Hall and Jenny Peters call out your numbers!

A few new things to look forward to this year is that we are having prize drawings during the night band breaks sponsored by many of the local venders. Watch for sign up box that evening!

If you haven’t already, go ahead and build your float for the parade. As well as trophies for Best Float, Best Motor Vehicle, Best Antique, Most Usual and Best of Parade we have brought back Best Little League Float and because it is a big election year we have Best Political Float. However, rules still applies that political candidates can only have limit of two vehicles per candidate in the parade.
