Kingston Springs Elementary School News & Supply List

Important Dates for the Upcoming 2014-2015 School Year at KSES:
New Student Registration is this Monday, July 28, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Open Houses and Kindergarten Orientation:
• 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grades Open House*: Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 5:30-7:30 PM
• 1st Grade Open House*: Monday, August 11, 2014 from 5:30-7:30 PM
• Kindergarten Orientation: Monday, August 11, 2014 6:00 PM in the Cafeteria. Meet and greet with Teachers will be immediately following the orientation.
*Homeroom Teacher assignments will be given out at Open Houses with the exception of Kindergarten and posted after August 7th.
• 1st Day of School for 1st – 4th Grades is Tuesday, August 12 with a 10:45 AM Dismissal
• 1st Full Day of School for is Wednesday, August 13 for 1st – 4th Grades with Regular Dismissal at 2:45 PM.

Kindergarten Schedule:
Kindergarten Testing will be on the following days by Last Name:
Wednesday, August 13 A-G
Thursday, August 14 H-O
Friday, August 15 P-Z
Students will be here for a full day on their day of testing, 7:45 AM – 2:45 PM. 1st Full day of Kindergarten will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014. A “Boo Hoo Breakfast,” hosted by our PTO, will be in the library at 7:45 AM for all Kindergarten parents.

KINDERGARTEN
Back pack big enough for a change of clothes and a notebook—NO rolling backpacks please
2 containers wipes (1 disinfecting. 1 baby wipes)
2 boxes of tissues
Re-sealable sandwich/quart bags-girls only
Re-sealable gallon bags-all students
Re-sealable snack bags-boys only
Headphones for Computer Lab (no ear buds please)
1 re-closable 8 ½ x 5 ½ school box with hinged lid
(2) 8 oz school glue (no glitter or glue sticks)
1 package heavyweight construction paper
4 pack dry erase markers
Optional –
Foldable Kindergarten mat (Kindergarten will be napping every day until Winter Break, the mat is an optional purchase for your child to have at nap time. If a mat is not provided, then your child can nap at his/her desk.
Cotton Balls, Hand Sanitizer, Brown and white lunch sacks, glitter, washable paint, wiggly eyes, pony beads, tri beads, pipe cleaners, paper towels and paper plates.

1ST GRADE
Two packs of 24 count #2 pencils (sharpened)

One spiral notebook for Music class (wide rule-70 pages)
One inexpensive set of headphones for the Computer Lab (in gallon Ziploc bag with name)
Composition book/journal with sewn binding (not spiral)
