Kingston Springs resident Catherine Turpin has finished more than a year of training with a big finish in partnership with Team Emmett in the Louisville Ironman. The Louisville Ironman is a 4.5 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride followed by a 26.2 mile run. Team Emmett is a local non-profit that raises funds for esophageal cancer research. She finished the race in about 15 hours 40 minutes.
“All I can say is WOW! I am in awe at the level of support I got from friends and the community of Kingston Springs!! It brought me to tears. Thanks to all of you who diligently followed my progress and stayed up to watch me cross the finish line. What an amazing experience! Thanks to all who made donations to Team Emmett. Your money will go to fund research to end esophageal cancer and give more people like my brother in law a chance to finish their ‘Ironman’”, Catherine said after the race.
