For The Birders
By DALE GRAHAM
Just when you think life will never calm down enough for you to be able to see some of the beauty of nature, someone else takes the time to put it right under your nose.
At the end of a really, really long week, I found an email from Pegram resident Kay Allgood:
“Hi Dale,
Our 'Harpeth River State Park - Hidden Lake' on McCrory Lane has some beautiful visitors: Monarch and Buckeye butterflies to mention only two. In the weedy areas along the path to Hidden Lake they can be seen flitting from the milkweeds to the thistles.”
Kay took these pictures in the park along the path to Hidden Lake. They are beautiful, and they remind me of a wonderful day I spent with my sister several years back in south Florida. We had gone on a bike ride to a butterfly garden and had a wonderful time sitting, and trying to take pictures.
None were as good as Kay’s, and she just went around the corner to get these!
Thanks so much Kay.
