Fri.1- I bought of Jordan one sack meal 45 cts. cofee $1.00 snuff 10 cts, one pen stock 5 cts. Total $1.60. Paid Cash. Paid Crouch one dollar in full. Total #2.880 to Crouch and Jordan. Bought one dipper from crouch 5 cts. Raind this morning. Jack Work hear. Mrs. Riggan hear. Will stop till night. Bought of Jordan oil 5 cts.
Sat. 2- mrs. Riggan hear. Let Dick have one dollar to buy seed corn. Hermar Riggan, Egbert Riggan, Jim Riggan, Mrs. Work and children hear today. Bought of Jordan 2 lbs butter 30cts. Paid Cash. pond Creek beat Sams Creek today. Mrs. Riggan gon home. Jim Riggan had 3 tooth pulled today. Patrick hear today. Benton came home. Staid all night. Bill Dozier and son hear today..
Sun. 3- Looks like rain this morning.I will wait till night. Herman Riggan, Georg Paskel, Andrew Patrick, Albert Duke, Jack Work hear today.
Mon. 4- Planted corn all day. Raind some. Carry Riggan, Asa Riggan hear today. All so Pat, Benton come home Boys makeing ties.
Tue. 5- Got dun planting corn. Set out sweet potatoes to day. Bill Dozier and son eat dinner hear today. Raind hard. Well I will stop till night. boys makeing ties.
Wen. 6- Mrs. Work and children hear today. Out in the woods with Osborne. He was hear today. Washed to day. Up till 9 oclock.
Thur. 7- Went to the store. Bought of Jordan one sack flour 65 cts. one sack meal 45 cts. straps 10 cts. drink 5 cts. Total #1.25 cts. Paid cash. Proffessor Tom Allen hear today all so Rustey Hooper.
Fri. 8- Seen Jess Jordan yesterday all so Wash Smith. Boys makeing ties, went Rusteys, Got milk. Hot today in the shad.
Sat. 9- Boys makeing ties. Hot this morning. Jess Cullum and famley come down to day. Andrew Patrick hear. Mrs. Work and children hear today. Lela Puckett and sister hear.
Sun. 10- went to church. Pat hear. I went to uncle Jim Hooper . Raind a few drops Saturday and the same to day.
Mon. 11- the boys in the tie woods. Col. Bill James and Moris staid all night. The boys had thir ties hammerd to day. Bought of Daniel Hooper 16 lbs meat $2.00. Paid Cash.
Tue. 12- Jess Cullum and famley went home yesterday. Raind some this morning. James and Moris gon. Left this morning. Will stop till night. Raind a few drops yesterday. Cool today. Bill Dozier plowing potatoes. Went to Ashland. Staid all night at Mitchells. Seen Mrs. Smith .
Wen. 13- Raind some today. Come home. Bought one umbrela 50 cts, one coat 25 cts, tobaco 5 cts, ferage 10cts, sodey 5 cts. Total 95 cts. Paid cash. Raind today. Mormons staid all night at Dicks so I hear. Pat hear to night. Well I am bey myself. Mary gon up the creek .
Thru. 14- Mary gon up the creek. I am keeping house. Eat dinner at Jim Wilsons yesterday. Seen Mag Hooper yesterday. I will stop till night. Lish in the woods. Old man Jordan cut his foot. Liked to bled to death. I it up all night ther Julius went to Nashville. Bought him a suit of cloths.
Fri. 15- Come home. Mary up the creek. Miss Shering at Uncle Jim Riggans.
Sat. 16- At home all day. Pat staid all night. Mary come home. Bought one sack meal 45cts. -paid cash.
Sun. 17- Dick Lovell and Collings hear today. Pat hear today. Eat dinner hear. Jo Hooper hear today all so Marshell Allen and son and daughter.
Mon. 18- Went to Ashland. Bought of Crouch one hankerchief 5 cts paid cash, Owe pipe 10cts paid cash. Sodey water 10cts. paid cash. Ferage 10 cts. paid cash. Dinner 30cts. total 65 cts. paid cash. 70 cts in all. Staid all night at Bill Clarks.
Tue. 19- Come home. raind some yesterday. Benton and Julius gon. Dick and Lish makeing ties. Rustey cutting oats. All quiet on Sams Creek and Pond Creek.
Wen. 20- At home today. Lish in the woods. Pat staid all night. Bought of Jordan 31 1/2 lbs bacon at 13 cts per lbs. 4.09 cts owe him for same. 1 pepper 10cts, sodey 5cts, salt 5 cts, snuff 10cts. Paid cash for same. Jim Dozier come to Rusteys. Dr. Shackett died.
Thur. 21- Jim Dozier, John rustey, Pat hear today. Dr. Shackett burried today.
Fri. 22- Andrew Hudggins moved off today. So I heard. Mrs. WOrk and famley hear today. Jim Dozier gon. Will Russells wife died last night. Jo Russells babey died last night. Bought of Jordan one case matches 10cts. paid cash. Fly papper from Crouch 10cts. Paid cash. Lish makeing ties. All so Dick. Benton and Julius out. Dick Lovell eat dinner hear today. Julius come home.
Sat. 23- Benton come home. Raind to day. Pat hear staid all night. Benton and Julius gon up the creek. Bought of Jordan one sack meal 45cts, one sack flour 65 cts. Total one dollar and 10 cts. Owe him for the same.
Sun. 24- Went to church. Sie Thornton eat dinner hear to day all so Pat. Pat and Thornton gon. I am bey myself. All gon, Run off and left me.
Mon. 25- If went up the creek. Eat dinner at Ewings. Pat mashed his nose. Raind som today but very little. Boys makeing ties.
Tue. 26- Parlee hear to day. Dick Lovell gon to Ashland. Cut weeds to day. Boys cutting ties. Parlee gon home. No rain to day.
Wen. 27- Dun nothing but wash. Me and Mary. Riand a little.
Thur. 28- In the woods all day. eat dinner at Jim Riggan Seen Mrs. Owens. Bought two cows from Ewing. 15 dollars. Mark on one. Cros and split in the right ear and split in the left ear. The other one is marked with a smooth cros in each ear. Charley Butlers wife sick. John Riggan down. Hot and dry to day. Next time I go out in hills I will go armed. I got uneasy yesterday and come out of the woods. But I will say that it is dangerous to be in the hills without a good gun. Ewin Hooper and Pat hear to day all so Rubey Work and a pedler. Pat staid all night.
Fri. 29- Julius gon to Nashville. Lish and Dick in the woods. Benton at home. I bought of Jordan one box snuff 10cts. Paid cash for same. Bought 2 hams 1.95. Owe for same. banister and wife at Dick Hoopers. Seen Ewing and Pat. Raind some today. Bought of Mandey Crouch 3 dos. eggs 30 cts, paid cash. Hot and dry. 85 today. 90 yesterday.
Old Salis coming to seevs. Lish and Dick in the woods. No new today. Rubey Work hear today. Will stop for today. no. I will say that ther is a large beast in theas hills. He is killing calves and hogs. he is large enough to cow. But you all may laugh. But you will find out. C. S. Hooper. Banister and wife staid all night hear allso Pat.
Sat. 30- 25 people eat dinner hear today. Col. James and Pat staid all night. Lish gon to Nashville. Bought Shuggar from Crouch 50cts. Charged to Lish, cooked all day or I helpt to cook. Picknick at Sams Creek today. Went off all right. So this winds up the month of June 1906.
