Sun. 1- Raind the first day of the month. Went up the creek. Eat dinner at Jim Riggans. Pat hear.
Mon. 2- Bought of Crouch one sack meal 45cts. Charged to Lish. Raind to day. Lish still in Nashville. Boys cut a bee tree today. Seen Jim Lenox to day. Dick Hooper sick yesterday. Seen Clate Reeds son hear to day. Dick Allen and Ben Jordan hear to day. Pat hear to night. The boys cut two bee trees today. Will stop for today. Sick. Honey sick.
Tue. 3- Lish come home. Pat hear to day. Allen went Nashville and back. Fire got out. Lish killed copper head snake. Rustey hear. Had his hair cut.
Wen. 4- Heath and Dock Hoopers daughter married today. Went to the base ball game. Williams got bad hurt. Ben Cox gon fishing on Harpeth River. Bill Demumbron gon to Nashville today. Mary went to Rusteys.
Thur. 5- Carry Riggan, Asa Riggan, Andrew Patrick staid all night.
Fri. 6- Worked the road for Dick. I eat dinner ther. Pat staid all night. Him and Bill. Bill hunted all day. Taylor come hear to day. I went to Jim Medows.
Sat. 7- Up the creek to meet John Stump but he failed to come. Old man George Nash and Jim Brown staid all night hear. Frazier hear to day. John Cruch hear to day. I eat dinner at Mrs. Butlers. Ewings babey sick. Owe John Crouch 90cts for fish. Dick Lovell hear today. Eat dinner hear. Raind a little this eavening. Seen Tom Adkison yesterday on Sams Creek. Seen Mr. Rowler and wife and Frank McMillon. Bought of Jordan meat 1.82 cts. flour 65 cts, oil 15cts. Charged to Lish, Benton, Julius.
Sun. 8- Nash and Brown gon home this morning. Will stop till night. Ewing Hooper, Pairlee Lovell, Harry Newberry eat dinner hear to day. Mrs. Work and children hear to day. Raind some to day. Boys all out. Got toothe ache. Bad company. Will stop.
Mon. 9- Rustey gon to Nashville. THIS IS THE 9th DAY OF JULY 1906. I HAVE MADE UP MY MIND TODAY. C.S. Hooper. Mrs. Owens come down to see us hear tonight. John Vick paid me 67 1/2 dollars to night or today. Charley Russell paid me for Dick and Julius. 25 Dollars and 2 cts. I paid Pad Jordan 23 dollars and 83 cts in full. I owe him nothing. Paid up in full.
Tue. 10- Went to Nashville me and Allen. Bought one pair shoes 2.00, dinner 30cts, beef 15 cts, car fair 20cts, alcohol 85 cts. Total 3.35 cts. Got the tooth ach. Bill Doziers old sow in the field. I was mad enough to cuss but I did not. Morris hear today. I eat dinner in the Court house annex in Nashville. It is a sallone. John Hows died this morning. Silvester Cullums boy drowned one day last week so I hear. Pat hear today. Mrs. Owens hear. Will Osborn and Mrs. Owens eat dinner hear to day. Hot and dry today. Raind a little. Pairlee Lovell hear to day. She has walked a round the Wourld.
Wen. 11- Will Osborn hear today. Mrs. Owens gon up to Sam Jordans. Mary went to Rusteys in the eaveing. Marge Dozier no better. Tom Work hear yesterday. Still got the tooth ach. Jim Riggan down the road.
Thur. 12-Dick Lovell eat dinner hear today. I paid him 2.80cts. Blake Sullivan dead. Died yesterday or Tuesday 10 of July 1906. Bought of Crouch one sack meal 45cts. Paid cash. Boys cutting ties. No rain on Sams Creek yet. Goo rain on Pond Creek last Sunday.
Fri. 13- Patrick hear today. Marsh Allen hear today. Loand him five dollars today. Mage Dozier no better. Seen Tom Crouch and Jo Shearon today. Will stop. Bought of Crouch 4 lbs meat at 13 cts lbs. 52 cts. one box snuff 10 cts. Total 62 cts. Paid cash for same. Josh Nickolson hear today. Marsh Allen hear today. Raind some today.
Sat. 14- Marsh Allen hear this morning. Raind some today. Bill Dozier plowing this morning. Will stop till eaveing. Sam Crocke hear today. Pat hear today.
Sun. 15- Wood Biggs and Jess Biggs married to day. Collins and children hear today. At home all day.
Mon. 16- Went to Nashville. Bought of Bell and Co. 100 lbs meat 13 1/2 cts, one barrle flour 4.95 shuggar 2.00, coffee 2.00. Julius 20 cts. Raind. Got wet.
Tue.17- John Vick hear today. I paid him $1.50 cts. Bill dun plowing. Boys in the tie woods. Old man Demcey De moss burried yesterday. He was a faithfull old darky. I paid out $23.85 cts yesterday. Mary sick but about.
Wen. 18- Winters got badley hurt today. Leg broke, his arm broke in 2 plases, sholder broke. Bad hurt. Dick Lovell hear today. Paid him 60 cts. Bought of Jordan 24 rubbers 10cts. Paid cash. Bought of Crouch snuff 10cts. Paid cash. Lish up the creek. Got the tooth ach. Bought one broom from Crouch 15 cts. Total 90cts.
Thur. 19- Egbert Riggan hear today. Boys makeing ties. Copper head bit Anny Hoopers chicking. It died in 2 minuts. They killed the snake. Jim Riggan, Ewing Hooper, Mrs. Work and children hear today. All so Anner. bought 25 cts tobaco. Paid cash. Starch 5 cts. Paid cash. Total 30cts. Patrick staid all night. Lish bought Egbert Hoopers timber for $185 dollars. He has 3 years in whitch to cut the same. He made a fine traid. Annie Hooper sick. Boys in the woods.
Fri. 20- Egbert Hoopers 2 daughters hear today. Washed to day. Got the tooth ach. Boys in the hills tie makeing ties. Got breakfast this morning. Will stop till night.
Sat. 21- Egbert Hooper hear today. Paid him in all $1.25 cts for black berrys. Ewing and wife come down. Staid all night. Got the tooth ach. Mary not well.
Sun. 22- Ed Lovell, Bates Crouch, Minnie Hooper, Basil Hooper hear today. Marshel Allen hear today. Still got the tooth ach. Went to Rusteys.
Mon. 23- Went to Ashland. Paid John Duke $3.00 dollars for his son. Bought of Jordan pipe 5cts. one pockett book 10cts. Paid cash. Total 15cts. Ferage 10cts. Jars from Adam Binkley 75 cts. sodey water 5cts. For pulling 2 tooth $1.00 dollar. Total $5.10 cts. One twist tobacco from John Duke 5 cts. Total $5.15 cts. Staid all night at Brandey Doziers.
Tue. 24- Come home. Eat dinner with Mr. Frier and wife. Ewing and wife gon home. Morris staid all night. Still got a tooth ach. Seen Ms. Smith. Will Hooberg gon home today.
Wen. 25- Dick Lovell hear today. Morris gon home. Boys in the tie woods. Fixed the well. Got tooth ach. Mary broke my ink bottle so I will take the pencel.
Thur. 26- Dun nothing all day. Pairlee Lovell hear today. Lela Puckett hear today. Mary went to store. Boys makeing ties. 85 cts for alcohol.
Fri. 27- John Hunt hear today. All so Dr. Hoopers son. Will stop. Julius and Hubert Crouch had a fight. I think Crouch dun him one. Jo Hooper staid all night. Alcohol 85cts. Dick Lovell plowed out the potatoes. Paid him 25cts.
Sat. 28- All gon to the pick nick. Raind today. Jodey gon home. Julius no better. Pat staid all night. No row at the pick nick. John King found his horse in the lot with his leg broke so I hear. Pad Jordan lost his horse. Dead. I will stop. Big croud at pick nick.
Sun. 29 – Dick Lovell, Andrew Patrick, Ples Johnson, Ewing Hooper eat dinner heat today. Pat staid all night All so John Dillingham. Raind some today. Still have the tooth ach.
Mon. 30- Lish gon to the woods. Benton grinding his ax. Julius no better. He is in a bad fix. Pat staid all night. I staid all night at Dick Lovells.
Tue. 31- Went to Nashville me and Dick Lovell. Eat dinner at Tom Cullums. Staid all night with Dr. Dozier. Spent one dollar. Paid Crutchfield Anderson and Co. 52 cts in full. Went to Glendale Park. Mrs. Ellin Hale and Mintey Hooper, Andrew Patrick hear today. This is the last day of July 1906.
