Sat. 1- Went to Ashland. Give Mary eighteen hundred and twentey five dollars today. Paid Dick Hooper 42 1/2 dollars. Paid John Duke 2.50cts. Paid Al Duke 2 two dollars. Paid Dr. Oliphant for Dick Hooper six dollars. One pair of shoes 1.50. Socks 50cts. Dick Lovell staid all night. Julius come home.
Sun. 2- John Crouch, Mamie Crouch, Ewing hooper eat dinner hear today. Dick Lovell gon home.
Mon. 3- Got wood all day. Mary went to Tom Crouches.
Tue. 4- Got store wood all day. Boys cutting ties.
Wen. 5- Dug potatoes. TOm Hamltons boy badley hurt so I hear. Egbert Riggan shot in the foot so I hear today.
Thur. 6- Got som wood today. Paid Crouch up in full 11.96 eleven dollars and 96 cts. Bought of Crouch chease 30 cts, salt 10 cts, lard one dollar, dress 20cts, oil 20 cts, Mary beans 40 cts, calico 40cts, cocanuts 10cts, pepper 5cts, thread 5cts. Total for Mary one dollar, loant Mary 25cts. Total for Clabe 2.05.
Fri. 7- Dug potatoes and got wood. Went to Rusteys. Sit till bed time me and Lish. Boy Crouch went to Nashville. Total money spent today $3.05 cts, three dollars and 5cts.
Sat. 8- Went to see Mrs. Riggan. Give her one dollar. Mary one dollar all so. Tom Work, Bates Crouch, Frank Jordan, Newsom Jordan, Ben Jordan, Asa Dozier, Tom Brown, Ewing Hooper, Dick Hooper hear today. Tolers girl broke arm today.
Sun. 9- Spunk Allen, Cox, Morgan Hooper, Herman Riggan, Asa Dozier hear today. Raind to day.
Mon. 10- Tore down the house on the head of Sams Creek or part of it. Some bodey stold the floore out of the house. My grandfather on dads side. I will see about it in the grand jury. Paid John Hudgins one dollar. Raind hard today. Ernet Barns killed today bey an electric wyre in Nashville. He leaves a wife and 2 children. Mrs. Harper died on Sunday Dec. the 9th, 1906 Barnes was burried at James Adkisons grave yard.
Tue. 11- Herman Riggan bought a dark bay horse from Ben Hale for one hundred dollars to day. I paid Joe Hale up in full today 3.85cts, 2 dresses 1.28, shuggar 1.00 dollar, tobaco 25cts, Total 5.30 cts. John Banister bought a horse from Ben Hale on Monday the 10th for 80 dollars so I hear. Allso Jim Riggan and son for 30 dollars.
Wen. 12- Helpt Bill and Dick kill hogs. Brown Hooper and wife come up to see Mrs. Riggan. Sold to Julius 2 pigs for 3.50cts. Paid Boy Crouch 60cts bey Collins. Dont owe him for anything. 15 wagons on the road halling ties. Dock Allen hamered ties on Tuesday 11th of this month. Jordan leveid on Tolers check so I hear.
Thur. 13- Bramer hear to day. I dun nothing all day.
Fri. 14- Went to Ashland city. Ferage 25cts, cheese 20cts, trap 50cts, telephone 25cts. Total $1.20cts spent today. Seen Patterson to day. Warm today. Seen Cain. Bad man I think. Jim Walton died Wednesday the 11th, 1906.
Sat. 15- Raining this morning. Hubert Crouch and Tom Work hear. Raind all day. Bought of Crouch meat 18 lbs at 13cts, 2.32 cts, flour 50 lbs at 60cts 1.20 spice 5 cts, bakeing powder 5cts, oil 20 cts. Total 3.82 cts. Paid cash.
Sun. 16- Raining hard. Dick Lovell, John Crouch, Tom Work, Morgan Hooper, Jack Work hear today.
Mon. 17- Cut down a tree. John Banister, Hermon Riggan, Tom Work, Ewing Hooper hear today. Ewing staid all night. Turning cold. Nan Brown very low.
Tue. 18- Frank Hooper, Miller hear today. Paid Lee Reha 4.56 cts. I have paid him that act. befor. Paid twice but I will see him and see what he ses. Got wood all day. Cold to day.
Wen. 19- Got wood. Cold damp weather. House full and run over.
Thur. 20- Went to see Dick Dozier. Paid Asa Dozier 35cts. Ben Hale and Jess Young hear to day.
Fri. 21-Julius and Ewing gon to Nashville. Paid Ewing $9.00 dollars this morning for a sow and 4 pigs. Raining this morning. Lish and Benton out in woods hamering ties. Boys come back from town. Gairson staid all night hear tonight. Mrs. Brown better so I hear. John Crouch hear today. Heath got dead drunk today so I hear.
Sat. 22- Paid 2.50cts for one gal whiskey to day. Lish went to Nashbille. Tom Work and family of 5, Charley Work, Charley Jordan, Will Jordan, Frank Jordan, James Jordan, Asa Dozier, Dick Hooper, Olie Butler hear today. All so Wash Vick. Cold and snow on the ground. Bates Crouch hear. John Crouch gon to Louis Countey to day. Smiley went to Nashville.
Sun.23- Clear and cold. Dick drunk. Jack Work hear. Me and Mary had a fuss this morning. She told a lie on me and I got mad as the devil for I knowed I did not say what she sed I did. I had made up my mind to go to church this morning, but the king of hell got in the way. I would not give thanks at the table. This showes my christianitey. Hell is full of all such christian. As I am and aught to be for I know better and wont do what I know. Lish come back from Nashville to day. Mary at Dick Hoopers. I make more money and spend more than any man in this 9th district and it doze me less good. I dont gamble. I dont drink. But still money goes every day. Well I will stop.
Mon .24- Went to Ashland. Bought one dress for Anney $7.00, cloak for Mary 3.00 dollars, 2.25 for makeing dress, 13.50 cts for suit of cloths, purse 50cts for Mrs. Frier. Ferage 10 cts. Total $26.35cts.
Tues. 25- At home all day. John Banister and wife home. Ewing and wife gon home. Pairlee gon home. Dick Lovell gon home. Tom Work hear today. 25 hear today. 15 staid all night.
Wen. 26- No damage dun. Giles and Miss Glasco married Dec 23 1906 so I hear. Jim Wilsons daughter married Dec 25 1906 so I hear. God bless Jim Wilson and familey for I think they are a good pople. Spunk Allen, Tom Work, Hary Newbery hear to day. Give Lish and Benton a check for one hundred dollars 100 dollars yesterday. Give Julius a check for 4.75. Dunn staid all night hear tonight.
Thur. 27- Dunn hear today. Paid Boy Crouch up in full today. Owe him 80cts. Dun nothing. Went to Jess Jordans. Bought 500 feet lumber. 3.00 dollars. Owe him for same. Raind hard to day. Got wet.
Fri. 28- Halled lumber me and Allen. One load for same. Owe Allen. Allen and Dunn hear today. Staid all night.
Sat. 29- Halled lumber me and Allen from the head of Sams Creek. One load. McLaw mooved up today. Liked to got drowned. Dunn gon. Seen Miller. A Dutchman, Benton and Julius went to Ewings. Staid all night ther. Allso Butler.
Sun. 30- Raind all day. Creek up high. Benton and Julius come home in the rain. Got wet. Dick Lovell hear. Jo Hooper come down and went back. Lish went Nashville Saturday the 29.
Mon. 31- Lish still in Nashville. Dodey at Rusteys shop to day. This is the last of the Old year. I have made five thousand dollers in cash this year in the year 1906. May God bless all the pople.
