Wen. 1- At home this morning. 2 men hear yesterday from Dickson. Lish cutting logs him and Butler. Benton gone to Happey Hollow. Dick Hoopers boy borned to day. Asa Dozier hear today.
Thur. 2- Mary gone to Sams Creek. Bought of Ed Page one buckett sur 45cts, candy 10cts, dinner 15cts, Total 70cts. Benton at home. Try try try a gane as long as I live.
Fri. 3- Julius gone to Sams Creek. Ewing halling logs. Lish cutting logs. Mary on Sams Creek. Rainning just a little. Benton hunting a silver mine. He found some.
Sat. 4- Mary on Sams Creek. Julius gone ther. Raind today. Lish gone to Nashville. Bought of John Greer 1/2 bushell meal 45cts. Paid cash.
Sun. 5- Andrew Whitley and Ed Barnes come down. Mary come home.
Mon. 6- Dug up onions. Went to Kingston. Bought of Moore oil 15cts, broom 30ts, washing powder 5cts. Total 50cts. Paid cash. Lish come home. He lost five dollars on the road.
Tue. 7- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page matches 10cts. Paid cash. Julius gone to Sams Creek. Juluis come home. Wills staid all night. Bought of Ed Page paper 10cts, one pencel tablett 5cts, paper 5cts, tabaco 5cts. Paid cash. Total 25cts. Raind to day but very little. Julius gone to Sams Creek. No I am rong.
Wen. 8- Wills gone to Ashland. Julius gone to Sams Creek. Lish gone Happey Hollow. Ewing halling logs. Benton on Sams Creek. No bodey hear last night.
Thur. 9- Lish went to work for Ferris this morning. Ewing for Bill Greer cutting logs. B enton and Julius on Sams Creek. Benton and Julius come home. No ties spotted yet.
Fri. 10- Raind this morning. Benton gone to Kingston. Julius gone to. Sams Gordons gethered corn. River past foring to day
Sat. 11- Lish come home to day. Julius gone to Sams Creek and come back. Lizey Butler come over. Garner Hale hear today. Seen Guss Hooper yesterday. Bought of Greer meal 40cts. Lish let Garner have 20 diniate and 20 caps and fuse. Mary fell throu floor. Hurt her leg badley. Sale at Mrs. Dunns and Holmans to day.
Sun. 12- Ed Harris, McFergerson and Juel Fowler eat dinner hear today allso Dick Hooper. Olie Butler hear today.
Mon. 13- Went to Kingston. Spent 25cts cash. Lish gon to Nashville. Ewing halling logs. Johnson Creer hear. Eat Supper hear. Seen Hicks and Larkins. Julius went to Sams Creek and back and Pond Creek. Had Ed Shod bey Ben Hale 40cts. Owe for same.
Tue. 14- Ewing halling logs. Julius halling wood. Ed Harris and son and a pedler staid all night. Lish come home sick with the fevor. Benton on Sams Creek.
Wen. 15- Fixing to work up the cane. Mary no better I am still cooking et. Lish in the bed or on the bed. Ed Harris and son here. 8 oclock and ther is a terable reck. 2 trains frun together. Killed nine men. Five of them burnt up in the reck and I beleave ther is at least 30 more bunt up. I think all in the smoker was killed and burnt up. Jo Gour was got out of the reck dead. Ben Walp was burnt up in the reck. Sam Whited was burnt up in the reck. Tarkenton was burnt up in the reck. They got out a hand and thie and peace of back bone last night so I hear. The trains run together on a high embankment on one side and bluff on the other. Ed Harris and son all night. Lish still sick. Mary no better. Got supper. Was at reck.
Thur. 16- Have not heard from reck this morning. Went to the reck. Worked up ther about 2 hours.
Fri. 17- Went up to the reck. Dick Lovell all night alllso Egbert Riggan all night. They are still at work on the reck. I doute if they eaver find any more of the men but hope the may. ALl has ben done that could be done bey the company. I mean the RailRoad Company. They have done all they could under the gerate disavantage they had to labor. The fire melted some of the car wheals and killed some trees to the top but still they worked on trying for 12 hours. The neighbors done all the could to help and are at work ye.
Sun. 19- At the reck. Dick Lovell and Riggan gone home. They found
Morgan today so I hear . Willliams hear today and Jashlin.
Mon. 20- At work at the sogrum. Ed Harris and son hear today Julius come home. Bought from Ritchardson one pair of boots 2.50. Owe for boots. Meal one bushel 1.00 dollar. Paid cash. Ed Harris and son all night. Jess Peach died Friday September the 17th 1909. Julius went Sams Creek.
Tue. 21- Worke at sogrum. Ed Harris and son all night.
Wen. 22- Worke at sogrum. Ed Harris and son all night. Raind to day. Went Kingston. Bought one barrel 1.00.
Thur. 23- Raining this morning. Lish went to Nashville yesterday. Ed Harris and son went home. Lish in Nashville.
Fri. 24- Jim Wilson and Larkins staid all night allso Ed Harris and son. Bought of Moore 10lbs meat 1.55. 50cts coffey. Total 2.05 cts. Owe for same. Lish still in Nashville. Mary better.
Sat. 25- Cold this mornign. Wilson gone home allso Larkins. Makeing sogrum to day. Lish still in town. Will stop till night. Ed Harris and Son gone home this eaveing. Lish come home.
Sun. 26- Ewing gone to Sams Creek. Lampley hear today allso Erbie Clark.
Mon. 27- Brown Hooper and wife come to see me. Stiad all night allso Ed Harris and son. Ewing come home. Frost. Charley Hale paid me 50 cts. Glad to ssee Brown and wife.
Tue. 28- Went with Brown and Marthey to Nath Smiths to show them the way. Lish went with me. Seen John Nalls. Ed Harris and son all night.
Wen. 29- Lish gone. He left this morning. Asa come over. Paid Ewing 2.50cts. Owe him 25cts. Got done makeing sogru today. Benton paid me 14 dollars today in full. I am full. Lish gone for good. I am uneasy a bout him. Asa Dozier stiad all night. Lont Dick the history.
Thur. 30- Benton gon to Nashvile. Dozier gone holme. Julius on Sams Creek. Me and Ewing pulling corn. Mary washing. Ingram hear today. Will stop till night. Clear and cool. Frost this morning. No rain yet.
