March 1907
Fri. 1- Raind hard this morning. It is still raining at 8 oclock to night. River rizing fast. The mail did not come today. Lish at Crouches store to night. March the 9th 1907 Mooved to the Basley Place.

November 1908
Sun. 8- Sunday November the 8th 1908. I will pick up my old book tonight and wright again. Lish has had it for 2 years. Trudey and Lish out in the woods till night. Ed May and family hear to day all so Bill Jones and Bill Greer. Benton went to Sams Creek yesterday. He is out tonight.
Mon. 9- Benton gone to Nashville. Getheard corn me and Ewing.
Tue. 10- Went to Kingston. Bought from OTT Beard meat 3.75. Well Benton come home. Allso Julius. Lish and Trudey ground the knives.
Wen. 11- Lish and Hubert makeing ties. Benton clearing up land. I dun nothing.
Thur. 12- Ewing plowing. I made boards. 2 men sleepte in the barn.
Fri. 13- Made boards. Ewing plowing. Lish makeing ties.
Sat. 14- Dick and Asa come home or to see us. Mary went Clarks. George Clarks child died this morning. I helpt dig grave. Julius went to the shooting match. Cold to night. Johnson Linton died today. He was a confedrate soldier. Was parrold at Gainsville Alabamy May the 10th 1865. He was with Forist. He made a good soldier.
Sun. 15- Went to the burring. George Clarks babey.
Mon. 16- Halled wood me and Ewing. Benton clearing up land. Lish, Crouch and Ewing gon up to Clarks. Jacob Webb hear today. Dick Hooper went home yesterday. Julius went home with him.
Tue. 17- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page one barrell salt 2.25, Owe him for same. Bought of OTT Beard 2 lard stands 20cts. Fixed to kill hogs but it was to warm. Will stop.
Wen. 18- Made boards and went to mill. Julius come home. Warm to day. Lish blowing a earerly call.
Thur. 19- Made boards today. Ewing plowed. Lish sick. Aunt Lucey hear today. Warm today. No hogs killed yet. Benton and Crouch out. Allso Julius. They are gone hunting.
Fri. 20- Made bordes. Ewing plowed. Benton worked on the island. Bought from Moor 1 dollar coffee. Paid cash.
Sat. 21- Dun nothing. William Price come up from West Tennessee. Julius come home from Sams Creek. Herman Riggan come over. Staid all night. I went hunting.
Sun. 22- Julius gon with John Greer. Ewing and family gon to Sams Creek. Bill Works girl had a babey to day. Herman Riggan and Price hear. Crouch gone to preaching. John Greer sold his mule yesterday for 60 dollars so I hear to Sam Colvin. Jim Colvin come allso Garner Hale.
Mon. 23- Went to Pegrams Station and Jess Hales. Bought from Jess Hale 17lbs meat at 12 1/2cts. Total 2.12 ½ cts. A pedler hear to day. Ewing helpt John Greer gether corn.
Tue. 24- Riand to day. Cloudey and warm. Percey Hooper come today. Julius and Price gon to Sams Creek. Helpt Ewing cut logs.
Wen. 25- Went to mill. Percey Hooper hear today.
Thur. 26- Helpte Ewing build smoke house. Percey Hooper hear. Partey at Jack Greers. Crouch and Hooper gon ther.
Fri. 27- Worked on Ewings smoke house. Still warm. Benton and Hooper gon. Julius come home. Garner Hale hear last night. I had gon to bed. Trudey got a letter from her mother.
Sat. 28- Raind all day to day. Dun nothing to day.
Sun. 29- John Banister come over. He is hear to night. Benton still out. Mrs. Miller come down. I went to Pegrams Sta. after her. Dan Woodard hear to day. Warm today. Hot. River up. Cant ford. Seen Jeff Stoveall and Bill Brown. Trudey mad as a wet hen at some bodey but I dont know who it is. I went to the bridge. Seen Staton and Brown and Fulghum.
Mon. 30- Worked on Ewings smoke house. Herman come over. Bought of Richeson peas $1.00 meat 2.00 shuggar$1.00 Total $4.00.


December 1908
Tue. 1- Worked on Ewings smoke house. Raind.
Wen. 2- Killed hogs to day. Cold today. Mrs. Dillingham died Tuesday December the first 1908. Buried today Jo Dillinghams mother. Well I must cut out meat and finish tonight. Julius went to Davidson Countey after corn.
Thur. 3- Salted meat. Julius come home. Allso Crouch.
Fri. 4- Raind. Cold to day. Halled wood. Dozier come.
Sat. 5- Ground sachish. Dryed up lard. Julius gon to Sams Creek with Olie Butler. Asa Dozier gon home.
Sun. 6- Raining this morning. Cold rain. Well I will stop till night.
Mon. 7- Mrs. Miller gon home. I went with her to the station.
Tue. 8- Ewing went to Sams Creek. I bought him a pair of shoes from Pad Jordan. $3.00. I made a misstake. Mrs. Miller went home to day. Ewing and
Benton worked on the river.
Wen. 9- Worked on the river me and Ewing. Patterson come hear today. He staid all night.
Thur. 10- Worked on the river me and Ewing. Patterson hear. Staid all night. Erlie Clark and Ed come. Sit till bed time. Julius come home on the 9th Wednesday.
Fri. 11- Raining this morning. Patterson and Lish out. The boys quit cutting ties that is Lish and Hubert.
Sat. 12- I went with Patterson. Julius halled wood. Lish and Crouch went to Sams Creek.
Sun. 13- At home all day. Patterson all night.
Mon. 14- Halled wood. 7 loads, Patterson gon.
Tue. 15- I went to Sams Creek. Ewing halled lumber for Tom Dunn. Free.
Wen. 16- Halled wood. 4 loads.
Thur. 17- Dun nothing. Lish and Trudey Miller went to Nashville. Seen Dan Joshlin. Went Pegrams. Charley Russell arrested to day so I hear today. If he is guiltey he aught to suffer. Hot today. 68 today. Ewing mooved Sam Jordan.
Fri. 18- Rainning this morning. Julius come home last night. Herman Riggan hear tonight. Ed Clark come down. The boys gone to Bobe Jordans to night. Turning cold. Benton gon to Sams Creek. Lish out tonight.
Sat. 19- Herman Riggan come over. I went Kingston Lodge. Garner Hale staid all night. Julius wone a turkey.
Sun. 20- Dick Hooper and Dick Lovell come over to day. I shucked corn today Sunday 20th 1908. Lish still out. Benton out all day.
Mon. 21- Jim Wilson come home to see me. He staid all night him and son. Ewing went to Nashville for Benton. Crouch went Nashville.
Tue. 22- Raind hard. I went with Wilson, Ewing come from Nashville.
Wen. 23- Dun nothing but go to mill. Si Thornton all night.
Thur. 24- At home all day. Si gon left this morning. Dun nothing. Julius come home from Sams Creek. Allso Ewing. Delpha Butler come over with him. Benton went to Brush Creek.
Fri. 25- The day past off all right. Fred Fowler and Jim Medows had a fight. Fred badley hurt. He staid hear last night. All so Puckett come in at 11 oclock.
Sat. 26- Ewing and famley gon to Sams Creek all so Julius. Lish got his cloths today. Trudey and child gon to Sams Creek. Fred Fowler went home. Benton gon to the sale or sed he was going. Tom Work, Dick Hooper, Codey Hooper staid all night. I
went on Jim Medows bond today. $150 dollars for his appearence before Esq. John Greer at 12 oclock on Monday Dec. the 28th 1908 for fighting on Dog Creek near the head of the same at or near Tillman Nashis house. Witneses Eck Riggan, Tillman Nash,
Rufus Puckett, Van Harrey, Mrs. Nash, Fred Fowler, Jim Medows. Smith and Ham married to day at Kingston so I hear.
Sun. 27- Dick and Tom gon home. Eck Riggan and Hooper staid all night. Butler and Puckett all night at Ewings.
Mon. 28- Henry Fowler and Fred Fowler hear today all so Ed Clark. Hooper hear. Raind to day. Old Tom Mixin put in jale for whipping his wife so I hear. Allso John Hudgins and Andrew Hudgins drunk so I hear but dont know how true it is. Julius and
Codey gon to Kingston. Charley Russell had a spell so I hear. Trial at John Greers. Henry Fowler and Fred Folwer hear to day all so Egbert Riggan and Puckette. I went on Medows bond. Benton gon to Jess Hales. Ewing gon to Greers to the trial. Minnie and Troy hear. Well I must go and milk. Lish out. Jim Wilson, daughter and son staid all night.
Tue. 29- Went to Pegrams Station and Kingston Springs today. Wilson gon home. Raind to day. Larkins hear to day eat dinner. Gone back to Nashville. Lish halled one load of wood. Julius gon to Sams Creek. Hooper gon. Ewing a sleep on the flore. Clabe
pening down the day.
Wen. 30- Raining this day all day. Went to Dog Creek. Guss Dunn dying to day so I hear. Boys all out but Lish. See Tom Moss to day. Allso Jess Ivey and Jim Wilson.
Thur. 31- Will Par and Percey Hooper come last night. Staid all night. Guss Dunn died this morning at 6:30 oclock 1908. This is the last day of the year 1908. Clear and cold. At home all day. Tidwell hear to day. Eat dinner hear. Parr and Hooper staid all night.
