Fri. 1 - Raind this morning. Julius gone to Sams creek. Give him one dollar to have the mule shod. Benton on the hill at work hoeing corn. Clabe doing nothing. Well will stop till night.
Sat. 2 - Dick Hooper and Jack work all night. All so Stover. Went to the lodge. Paid one dollar 50 cts dues.
Sun. 3 - Stover gone home allso Dick and Jack work. Julius gone to Sams creek. Hubert Crouch, Mingle, and Bass come. Staid all night.
Mon. 4 - Crouch, Mingle, Bass gone home. It has raind 4 days. Julius come home wet. Raind hard this eaveing. He went to Ashland him and Dick Hooper.
Tues. 5 - Raining hear this morning. I am going to Kingston this morning. Cant plow, to wet. Mud all over the fields. Plentey of weeds on C.S. Hoopers farm and if it keeps raining ther will be more. Will quit till night. John Hudgins hear today. John Boones knew him from his babey hood. He leaves a wife and 6 children. He was a clever man. He was the son of Tom Crouch of Sams
creek. Tom Crouch first married Harit Shelton the daughter of Bill Shelton. Than married Becky Jordan the daughter of Norflett Jordan of Pond Creek. Newsom Crouch married a Kellam. Wilson Kellams daughter. Young Tom Crouch, now old, married Mandey Jordan the daughter of Jess Jordan of Indian Creek. Jess, Noflett, and Warren Jordan wer brothers. All lived to be old men. Wash Shelton died childless. He was a brother of Bill Shelton and Jess Shelton. Jess Shelton is burried on a high ridge between Sams creek and Cumberland river. No other person is put ther. It is out in the woodes. He was a smart man and fine poet but never followed it. He was a very peculer man. High temper man.
Wen. 6 - To wet to plow. Raind to day. Dun nothing all day.
Thur. 7 - Julius gone to Sams creek. He staid all night over ther at Dick Hoopers.
Fri. 8 - Julius come home. Dun nothing all day. Went to Kingston. Two wet to plow.
Sat. 9 - Plowed some today but field wet. Raind to day or this eaveing. Bought corn of John Greer. 3 lbs corn $10.00 cts. Paid cash. Sell corn then bey corn. Bill Crouch married Katey Hale. Shelton Crouch married Mary Lovell. Jack Crouch married Lizay Jordan. She was the sister of his fathers wife. Sam Cox married Agey Jordan. Tom Cox married Nan Jordan. Ben Cox married a Hows. John Cox married a Lovell. All ded but Sam. Young Dr. Ben Cox, Toms son, married a Blair. Rufus Cox died in Texas. Egbert Riggan and Rufus Pucket staid all night.
Sun. 10 - Riggan and Pucket gone home. Raind to day. Wet cant plow. Benton out allso Julius. Clabe and Mary at home.
Mon. 11 - Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page meal 50cts, flour 80 cts. Paid cash. From Moore chamfire gum 5cts, turptine 11 cts. Total 16 cts. Paid cash. No rain today. Hot hear. Kellam spent the day hear. Glad to see him. Julius plowed some today.
Tue. 12 - Boys plowing this morning. Ground full wet. Hot. Looks like rain. Did rain in the evening hard. No bodey hear today.
Wen. 13 - Two wet to plow this morning. Binkley staid all night.
Thur. 14 - Sick all day. Boys plowed 1/2 day. Gone to help Clark get in his hay. Give a tramp his dinner. Hot today.
Fri. 15 - Boys plowing. I went to Kingston. Bought of Moore bacon 2.20 paid cash. From Ed Page coffee 50 cts, tobaco 25 cts, snuff 10cts. Total 85 cts. Paid cash. From Harris one sitter 10 cts. Total 3.15 cts spent today. No rain today. Hot 94 to day. Ed Clark hear to night. Sit til bed time.
Sat. 16 - Cloudey and cool this morning. Boys plowing. Speeking at Kingston last night. Raind hard. Quit plowing. Boys got wet. Jim Stover come.
Sun. 17 - Raind to day and a storm. Wind blowed hard. Benton went to work with John Hudgins.
Mon. 18- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page meal 50cts. Paid cash. Clear today and cool. Benton working for Hudgins. Stover hear. Julius at home. Stover fishing. Clabe doing nothing.
Tue. 19- Went Pegrams. Bought of Charley King cartridges 15cts. Owe him for same. Stover hear fishing.
Wen. 20-- At home all day. Going to Chattanooga in the morning.
Thur. 21- Went to Chattanooga. Railroad tickets 10.60 cts, whiskery 50cts, carridge 50cts, peaches 5 cts, car fair 15cts. Total 12 dollars spent to day. Got to Rossville GA all night at 6 oclock am.
Fri. 22- Went to Mishonnary Ridge and waled the hold way.
Sat. 23- I climbed up the mountain from the bottom to the top of Look Out Mountain. Me and Lish. It is the finest seenry in the Wourld. It taken us two and one half hours to clime it. We did not have a dry thred of cloths on when we got to the top. My hear would get dizey some times but I made the trip all right and walked down the mountain. I am 65 years old and proud of my acheavement. I sit in Gen. Grants chair.
Sun. 24- Went to St. Elmo and out at the Army post and back. Well I dont know how much I spent. Will not try to keep up with it seen my moneys worth. I would not take 10 thousand dollars for what I seen. I can see it now and will see it as long as I live.
Mon. 25- Went on top of Look out mountain. No I am Rong.
Tue. 26- Went on the mountain me, Mary, Lish, Trudey.
Wen. 27- Went all over the Chickamauga battle field. Staid all night with James Hooper in Georgia.
Thur. 28- Come back to Rossville GA. Found all well.
Fri. 29- Come home. Found all well. Ewing come staid all night. Stover still hear. Benton come home on Thursday the 28, 1910 from Hudgins.
Sat. 30- Julius gone to Sams Creek. I went Kingston. Bought of Ed Page meal 50cts, coffee 50cts, snuff 10cts, Total 1.10. Paid cash. Oil 15cts. 1.25 cts. Loand Benton 15cts, Seen Jim Wynburn. Stover hear fishing.
Sun. 31- At home all day. Stover gone home today.
