Sat. 1- Plowed half day me and Julius. Benton working for Keeton to day. Stover fishing. Jim Osborn at Mrs. Clarks today so I hear.
Sun. 2- Stover gon home. Julius gon to Sams Creek to see Herman Riggan. Asa Riggan came to see us. James Jordan died Tuesday June the 27th 1911. Hot 90 today. Poor Herman. He cant live long but a few days. He is getting wourse all the time.
Mon. 3- Benton gon to Sams Creek to see Herman. Hot this morning. Mary churning. Sam Colvin plowing. Went to Kingston. Paid John Duke and son in full today 17 dollars. He will get it in the morning. Charley Hudgins hear today. Andrew Hudgins babey died yesterday at 6 oclock. She was a bright child and a smart little girl. But she is at rest in heaven where all children go for they know no sin at her age.
Tue. 4- Julius gon to Sams Creek. Benton at home. Allso Clabe. Hot and dry. Mary going to West Tennessee so she ses but I will wait and see if she doze then I will know. Pad Jordan lost a fine mule yesterday. Loss 300. Julius had Toney shod 80 cts. Paid cash to John Rustey.
Wen. 5- Paid continental 17.35 today. One box snuff 10cts. Post office money order 10 cts. Total 14cts. 2 cent stamps. Hot no rain. Julius plowing. Keeton dun plowing. Mary washing. Clabe doing nothing.
Thur. 6- Plowing this eavening. Got breakfast. Milked the cow. Washed the dishes. Swept house. But Johnson grass. Got stove wood. Went to mail box. Got a letter from Dr. Oliphant today. He is a fine man and a man I think a heap of. I take him to be a clever gentleman and his wife a good woman. Hot today. Walley got his house burnt and every thing he had in it yesterday. No inshurence. Poor fellow. I feel sorry for him.
Fri. 7- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page coffee 50cts oil 15cts tabaco 25. Total 90cts. Boys plowing. Hot today. Need rain. Trial of Jack Greers. Eszu John Greer sit on the case with him so I heard.
Sat. 8- Sallie Hudgins and Jeff Hudgins hear today. Plowed all day or till 5 oclock me and Julius. Cloudey this eavening but hot. Need rain. John Hudgins went to the mountains Wednesday the 5th or started ther so I hear. Will get ther today.
Sun. 9- Dick Hooper and wife come over to see us. Staid all night. Julius went after them. Herman bad off. I went to Lampleys. Eat dinner ther. No rain.
Mon. 10- Herman Riggan died this morning at 3 oclock 1911. Boys gon fishing Dick, Benton, Julius. Julius went to Sams Creek and back. Troy broke his arm so I hear. Raind a little to day.
Tue. 11- Cloudey this morning. Going to see Herman Riggan burried.
Wen. 12- Julius gon to Sams Creek. Miles Spencer hear to day. I went to mill. Dick and wife gon home. Hot and dry.
Thur. 13- Plowed half day. Good rain and storm with it. Corn blown down it layed the crop bey. Dun nothing after dinner.
Fri. 14- Julius gon to Sams Creek. I went to Pegrams Station and come home. Nick Sneed bad off. Seen Hooper.
Sat. 15- Went to the lodge. Jo Scott come home with me. Staid all night.Sun. 16- Jo hear today. Julius gon to Sams Creek. Raind a good rain to day. Jo go home.
Mon. 17- Fulton come staid all night. Julius on Sams Creek. Jones hear today. Some one got 6 shots bey Davidson. A girl murdered in Davidson countey last week so Fulton told me but did not know her name. She was found in a gulley with a hole in the back of her head.
Tue. 18- Fulton gon. Claud Crouch hear yesterday. I cut weeds yesterday. Benton on Sams Creek.
Wen. 19- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page oil 15cts snuff 10 cts squash 10cts turnup seed 20cts tobaco 25cts. Paid cash to Ed Page. Went to mail box. No mail. Lampley hear today. I dun nothing today.
Thur. 20- "Note from Tony" From Thursday the 20th to Wednesday 26th is faded so much only a little of C.S. Hoopers writing could be made out. I will write what I can make out. The dates are even faded. Here it is.
Thur. 20 thru Wen. 26th- Raind. Seen John Henry. Julius gon to Hales. Lon Liles no better. I think he will be a cripple. Bought of Ed Page meal 40cts. At kingston. Brandey Dozier lost a mule Sunday 23rd. Mule worth 150 dollars at least. Dun nothing all day but plant beans and corn.
Tue. 25- Dun nothing all day but house clean.
Wen. 26- Went to Kingston. One gal oil 12 cts shirt 30cts. 42 cts paid cash. Sallie Hudgins and Jeff come to see us. Staid all day. Julius halling on Dog Creek. Benton on Sams Creek.
Thur. 27- Julius going to the river Cumberland river with ties. Lon Liles no better so I hear. Lon Liles better. I went to see him. I went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page one knife 90cts one bottle sodey water 5cts. Total 95cts. Turning warmer.
Fri. 28-Went to Kingston. Maild a letter to Hagey at Johnson city Tennessee. Got one the same date from him. Agee lied to tell the truth. Julius halling ties. John Boon got a pig today. 4 dollars. He owes it.
Sat. 29-Cloudey this morning. Julius gon to the river. Dr. Liles set Sam Hornes little girls arm today. John Greers little girl she is grown Bessey better today. Garner Hale staid all night. Sprinkled a little.
Sun. 30- Hale gon allso Julius. Raind a little this morning. Cloudey this morning. Jim Riggan hear today.
Mon. 31- Raind to day. Julius gon to the river. Got wet. At home all day. A tramp hear to day. Bill Greer hear to day. Eat dinner at John Greers today. He is a fine man. All clever people out hear. This is the last day of July 1911. Lon Liles getting a long as well as could be exspecited. He is badley hurt but mending. George Clark welded the wagon tire and put in on today.
